So instead of $40.00 worth of programming , you gain more fees, but your bill stays the same, or drops by $10.00. Does that seem like a Good trade Scott?

That's the part I have a hard time swallowing. End result will be less programming but your total bill doesn't drop by that much. At the very least, I'll be looking to see what Comcast Triple play will cost me with 4) HD DVRs, to feed 4 tvs. Set 5 is a 15" in the kitchen. No need for HD. Set 6 is in my new 4 season room. OTA for HD in there. If I can split the cable somewhere to feed 5 & 6, that should do it.

I am staying I have a 722K (Primary) and a 612 HD DVR, if the chart that scott put up looks right (it was a bit fuzzy) My bill may decrease a few dollars?????

Not sure as I though my bill was going to go up a few dollars

Plus not that I would want to, but priceing around Direct is around 100 a month for the package I would want that comparable to what I have now, Same with Comcast with not near as many HD channels that Dish has.

The 612 will be $2 less offset with a $1 increase in top level DVR fees assuming you were on a DHA programming package previously and kept your receivers connected.

I dont watch the channels I am dropping anyways. Only reason I had AEP was because I didn't want to pay DVR fees for all 6 of my DVR's.

Trade for what? D* was more based on 3 DVR's and Premiere (AEP). Com Crap starts at 125 for the AEP. I will be considering dropping one of my 622's (owned), keeping the 211 w/EHD, and leased 622, and getting an OTA DVR.

I'm pretty sure I'll be sending back the 322. For all the more I watch tv in the computer room and have guest over for the guest room it's not worth $14.00 a month. (Im still never found the answer if tv2 output was free on the primary receiver). I really have no other options I don't
care directv, and Atlantic Broadband is not cheap. If I wanted digital in 4 rooms like I do with Dish course the first one free but I'd pay 7.95x3. I've
had so many problems with their dvrs.

I have no choice but to stay with Dish. Cable not available in this rural area adn Dish receivers are much better than Direct.

You have a choice, You are just willing to pay Dish a premium to use what you believe is their superior equipment over what Direct TV charges even tho Direct TV equipment is cheaper and programing for the most part is identical. Either way you can still record and watch the same shows with either companies equipment. It all boils down to the fact you have a choice and are willing to pay a premium for Dish Equipment over you other options.

Like I said in other thread, If people are willing to compare TV service ignoring what they believe to be better equipment or not, with Dish new increases in price Dish is no longer cheaper than many other opinions. And if the equipment breaks with Dish you are forced to pay replacement costs, which I understand Direct Tv it is the same unless you have their protection plan as well. But with Cable/Fios/U-Verse if your box breaks they swap out for free and boxes fee's in many cases are identical or cheaper than Dish now depending on your local company.

I also like Dish's equipment over Directv but there is a point to where you got to say "THIS IS ENOUGH!" and also ask "is it really worth the extra cost?" I think it depends on your situation as to how many tv's that you have. I think a lot of people will need a 612 instead of a 522/625/622/722 after this because they use their 622/722 for one room only in single user mode. I predict a shortage of 612's.

I'll stay with dish, but I'll be dropping my service level to make up for the difference in costs. I can cut the AEP and add Netflix and still save $10/month over what I'm paying today. So with Dish adding costs, in the end they will be loosing around $240 per year from me.

The poll needs another option. Stay with Dish and reduce programming and/or receivers. I will do both so I make sure I pay less per month than I am now. If they keep up with this price gouging, I will go OTA, Netflix and a basic Directv or cable package.

Scott, you only have 3 people in your home right? Do you really need 6 duo tuner dvrs in your household? For that matter do you really have TIME to watch everything recorded on those 6 dvrs?

that same question can be asked of many of us.

for 5 to 7 bucks a month per box with AEP washing the DVR fee, the obvious answer is we wanted it. never a timer conflict:)

So what is the increase? We have AEP, 1 622 and 1 722. What will my increase be? We took the second 722 at a promo price. If the price increase kills us, can I return the 622 that we have leased for years?

Your increase will be $6 more in DVR fees, a reduction of $3 since AEP is dropping $3, and a $10 price increase on your second receiver from $7 to $17. That is a total increase of $13 for you. Happy New Year!

No, because Comcast would cost me more :(

Your right....comcast in my area would be much more with about a quarter of the national HD channels. Two HDDVR's are quite expensive per month, and I would need a third reciver for my SD TV, where the 722 takes care of that.
