What is wrong with the Cleveland Indians?

Well, it sure was good to see that Grand Slam by Franklin last night! It does seem like this could be the turn-around time. The White Sox are playing bad ball right now (to say the least!) and this should be the confidence booster all involved needs.

I DO think that Barfield should be brought up soon to take a crack @ it again...

Let's hope so. As a Tribe fan, I've been looking for that "sign" for a while now.

On another note, the Tribe and Sox are playing an afternoon game as we speak! It is currently 2-0 in favor of the Indians in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Today is the first game back for Jake Westbrook, who has been on the disabled list since April 20th.

I wouldn't exactly consider that a valid statement. One bad game yesterday? Maybe. But it is very hard to be above .500 and play bad baseball. I will agree that we are having some offensive struggles, but every other area is holding their own.

Well, that lead didn't last long. This time, our bullpen gave up the go-ahead run. Tribe loses their 10th in the last 11 games! The sad thing is, we had runners on 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out in the bottom of the ninth! But once again, we failed to score with runners in scoring position.

Great way to close out a home-stand and go into an 11 game road trip! Oh, the misery! I'm so depressed! :(

Don't forget stranding runners on 1st and 3rd with nobody out in the 1st.

It's simply pathetic that major league hitters in the middle of a lineup can't hit a fly ball for a sacrifice fly in those situations.

Of all the awful losses during this run, Wednesday's was the worst.

Yeah. I got a question for Wedge and the managers......

Why couldn't we try a suicide squeeze in that situation? No one tries that anymore and it would be completely unexpected. Hell, with the way we're swinging the bats, we might as well have tried!

All right Tribe! Let's snap out of this already.

Tonight we start a 3-game away series against the Royals who are also struggling (11 straight losses). Should be a good one. Hell, somebody's gotta win! :D

Indians-Royals Preview:

8:10 PM ET, May 30, 2008
Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
CLE: Lee (1.50 ERA, 7-1), KC: Meche (5.35 ERA, 3-7)

Well Borowski nearly got Sizemore killed to end the game but the Tribe won, 5-4.

Hopefully a win like this can get them going. These are the types of games - where they take advantage of a couple of breaks - they won all last season.

The series worries me though, because laws of average will have to catch up with the Royals eventually.
You just don't hear of teams losing 14 straight like I hope the Royals will have done come Sunday.

Yeah. G. Size deserves all the credit for last night's win. He played his ass off! 2 HR, 3 RBI and an amazing game saving catch while crashing into the center field scoreboard face-first to record the last out of last nights game! Simply amazing! He plays his heart out in center field. That type of effort is commendable.

I have to admit I fell on the "Tigers will win it all" bandwagon after their offseason moves. However, the Tribe will win this division going away. They have the deepest rotation in the AL (with Toronto, Boston, and Angels not far behind), and a deep bullpen to complement it.

What's RIGHT with the Tribe?

Grady, Francisco and Franklin are what's RIGHT with Cleveland. Collectively, with a huge assist prop to Sizemore, the outfield kept the Tribe in last night's game! Once Pronk gets squared away (and it may not be till late season) they will be poised to win their Division again!

One weekend. Two games. Three runs. That about sums up the last 48 hours for the Cleveland Indians. After winning the first game against the Royals, they lost the next 2. This offense is mind numbing. Apparently we're not snapping out of this offensive slump just yet.......

I think each team's fans want the division more than the teams do. Chi Sox lose three straight games at TB scoring a total of 4 runs in three games. Pathetic!!! Just when I think they are about to run away with the division...

Yes...you kinda got down on me when I said last week that they were playing bad ball. But you could just see it coming. Perhaps since I am not a Sox fan I see things a little differently.

Now Ozzie and Kenny are at it...it is not a pleasant time for you and I feel your pain.

The Tribe is currently entrenched in a gruesome 11 game road trip. 6 games into the road trip, they are (3-3).

They are currently 3 games into a 4 game series against the Texas Rangers. Over the last 3 games, the Indians have scored a total of 35 runs!!!! I really hope this is a sign of that the team is finally snapping out of their offensive woes. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed in hopes for an Indians Summer!

I also hope its a sign that they're coming out of the season long slump, but I'm worried its more of a sign of the Rangers horrible pitching staff

That could be too. Over the last few years (last year as an exception), this team has historically started slow. Maybe now that the weather is warming up, so will the bats.

More AL Central woes!

Tribe loses Westbrook and Tigers lose Bonderman both for the season! What else can go wrong in this topsy-turvy AL Central this year?

Advantage=Indians...I think!
