You know how some people tire of the same thing after years and years?

It's kind ofl like NBA fans outside of Boston probably were getting a little bored of seeing the Celtics win every year in the 1960s.

You respect their place in history and as a great team, but you want someone else to win.

Yeah, I do. Its called the DETROIT LIONS. I've been sick of them for 51 years.

As for the Red Wings, well Ken Holland has to retire sometime, maybe 20 years from now or so. You're young, you should make it that long.:D

I don't think I will ever watch the NHL on NBC anymore. I don't even care if the Flyers are on this week. I can't stand Doc Emerick. I hate NBC and I hate Versus, always the same goddamn teams from the East.quote]

Good Lord! A lot of hate tied up inside you, dude. As for me, I could not think of an NHL national broadacst and not have "Doc" call the PBP.

NBC's choice of broadcasting talent is hurting the NHL.

Watch a game on the NHL network (usually a Canadian game) and you will see what a joke NBC's coverage really is.

Embattled Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery is one step closer to his return to the National Hockey League.

Avery was assigned Tuesday to the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolfpack, the top minor-league affiliate of the New York Rangers.

Avery sent to Rangers? AHL affiliate

When the Stars call him up (he's still Stars property, even though he was assigned to the Rangers' affiliate), he'll have to clear waivers. The lowest team in the standings that claims him will obtain his rights.

The plan is for the Rangers to claim him, but of course every team below them will also have a shot if they want to gamble on Avery. Of course by the March 4 deadline to call him up and still be eligible for the playoffs, the Rangers may be at the bottom of the league anyway.

I may have to go check him out, he might make a Wolfpack game interesting. But, then again, if his anger management counseling has worked, it probably won't be worth going.

Sharks score four goals in the third and win, 5-2.

It may be only one game, but I don't feel like the Bruins are on a par with Detroit and San Jose just yet.

THIS is the year of the Sharks.

They're no longer relying on Thornton, Marleau, and Nabokov to carry the load.

They have DEPTH, which is what separates them from Detroit.

Oh, and it is well-known that since 2003, no defending Stanley Cup Champion has made it out of the first-round.

Great story tonight.

A year ago today, Richard Zednik suffered a life-threatening injury when he got slashed in the neck by a skate a year ago tonight in Buffalo (frightening when you remember what happened to Clint Malarchuk).

Tonight, he scored the game-tying goal AND the game-winning goal- in OVERTIME, no less!

It's ALWAYS THE SHARK'S YEAR.
We hear the same thing EVERY year.

Till they actually beat Detroit in the playoffs and win it, we will continue to hear this.
That said, thier team has been molded after the Red Wings now, so it would not surprise me if they did win it all.
