4/8/2009 1:10pm - Uplink Activity Report - 93 changes - STILL NOT VIACOM

Stepping away from the Viacom stuff. I noticed BTR locals got added to 129. Baton Rouge is pretty far east. Ciel-2/129 must be able to spotbeam pretty far to the east.

Click on the link that says "TP whatever it is" next to the channel and you can see a map of the spotbeam that it's on. Ceil-2 will reach all the way to FL as Gainesville locals just got turned on.

I think Dish knows I am going to switch to TurboHD to save a few bucks once Viacom HD gets lit up ... they are milking me for as long as they can I guess ...

It's getting frustrating. My locals made the uplink report in February. We were then told we would get them "after March". That could be in dog years. I missed March Madness in HD because I can't pick up my local CBS by antenna.

They are so freaking vague.

Can't get 129 sat

I got two of my locals in HD last week but they are on the 129 satellite. I cannot get it with my set up. I get 110,119 & 61.5. I called Dish last Saturday to have a service rep come out and get me hooked up to 129. The installer came out Monday while I was at work (fast service). the installer cleaned up a sloppy install from 2 years ago when I added HD and told my wife he had no clear line of sight for the 129 sat. My 2 dishes are located at the SE corner of the house. Is there that much of an angle difference to the 129?? I don't want to have the dish in the front yard.

Can D* get all their channels on one dish in my area??

At least one of the EPG uplinks is a re-add of one that they "lost" (KEYE2).

I whined at them about it 2 weeks ago, and they called me end of last week about it.

They are just slow.

Thanks Charlie! You know, real men admit when they're wrong and apologize. From you, I'll settle for an explanation and your best estimate of when you will keep your promise for new national HD.

Yep.. Spotbeams all over the US. Click on TheList link in my signature. Click on 129. Then scroll through all the locals. You can sort by columns by clicking on the column header you want to sort by. You'll see all the locals spotbeamed. You can also click on the spotbeam number and it will show the spotbeam map with the channels/transponders allocated to that spotbeam.

I would change it to "failed again" so you dont have to change the number every week:rolleyes:

Yeah, I'd get tired of changing it after a month or two eh?

I think I'll just make some changes to the uplink report. If it doesn't have any viacom HD channels in it, it will put NOT VIACOM on the title. LOL

4648 - KFDX [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 14 Spotbeam 36 (NA)(Wichita Falls, TX-NBC)
4649 - KJTL [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 14 Spotbeam 36 (NA)(Wichita Falls, TX-FOX)

This only means these two local HD channels have been uplinked to Ciel-2, correct? Those two channels in Wichita Falls (as well as the CBS station there, KAUZ) are already available in HD on E*12 at 61.5°.

I think it will be pretty odd if E* lights up the Wichita Falls local HD stations in this viewing market on TWO different birds but still doesn't manage to get the ABC station, KSWO, supported in HD on any of them. KSWO management and Drury Broadcasting has already said E* has permission to re-transmit that station's HD signal. I just don't understand the hold up.
