I have been upgraded to 6.14 for about a week now and here are some problems I currently have...

I also get the black screens, both OTA and Sat
Dropped audio (had this with 6.13 also)
Picture jitter...used to get this with SD only, but now get with HD
Lower signal threshold on OTA signals

Using VIP622 connected to a Toshiba plasma using component and optical cables.

Same here only no OTA for me. I have had the dropped audio since 6.10

My 622 has just developed a new problem. The timers on the OTA channels are no longer recording. Even deleted some of the timers and re-created the recording schedule for the show - they still do not work! This is OTA channels only...

I am having a similar problem if I set up the recording 1 or more days in advance on an OTA channel that I receive from Dish also. My equipment consists of 2 VIP 622's, a 1000.2 for 110, 119, and 129 and a dish 300 for 61.5, and a DPP44 switch. I am in the Atlanta DMA and receive the network HD channels (2, 5, 11, and 46) from satellite and the network HD channels plus 17, 36, and 43 OTA.

Several months ago timers set for the network channels OTA (2, 5, 11, and 46) started becoming inactive if I set them 1 or more days in advance. The timers are still there, but the events disappear from the schedule after the nightly schedule update. If I set a timer to record all new episodes on OTA (2, 5, 11, and 46) for a show the following day, they never show up on the schedule for the following week as they do when I set the same timer for a satellite channel or OTA 17, 36, or 43. Timers set to any satellite channel or OTA 17, 36, or 43 work fine.

I now have L614 on both receivers, but the problem started before I had L614. I have spent several hours with Dish customer service, but they have no ideas. I have the identical problem on both receivers which are of different hardware vintages.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to overcome this problem or what is causing it? I presently have to set any OTA timers for 2, 5, 11, or 46 earlier in the day for a program later that day.

i AM ON MY FOURTH RECEIVER VIP622. THEY ALL STOP PLAYING. YOU CAN HEAR THE HARD DRIVE . THE LIGHTS WILL GO ON AND OFF. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING RECOMMENDED. ANY IDEAS? FIFTH RECEIVER ON ITS WAY..

Not receiving Dish local SD channels

I couldnt find the answer to my question anywhere so here I go. A couple of weeks ago I lost my local Dish SD channels, on both of my receivers (522 & 622). I am still receiving my HD locals on my 622. I called my installer and he came out and said I needed an alignment on my dish which he did. I tried my local SD dish channels and I still wasnt receiving them, so I called him and he came back and talked to Dish and they said they were having trouble with this and were working on correcting it, my installer told me if it didnt correct itself in a couple of days to call him back. After a couple of days it still didnt work so I called my installer and he came out and changed my LNB's and switch on my Dish (1000.1 - I believe). I unplugged both receivers and tried to receive my local SD channels but they still didnt work. Has anyone had this problem and came up with a solution? I sure would appreciate any input. Thanks

Since you couldn't find anything about this in other threads and since this is a thread about bugs with the 622 receiver, you might be better off creating .... a new thread.

Well since the installer that I hired said it was my 622 receiver I thought there might be a bug in it but I guess no from your answer.

My 3rd refurbished replacement 622 just died on me this morning... same "continuous reboot hell" symptoms as described in this thread. I called Dish for a 4th replacement but they are sending a tech out instead who will have a 622 on the truck. Has there been any more news as to the cause of these failures? I pay for the 'home protection' on top of all of this and I'm getting really annoyed now.

WAKE UP LEMMINGS

I HAD ENOUGH! All of this is BS. My audio drops are not just on the HD locals, but almost everywhere. A contract works both ways. If they can not hold up the contract terms it is null and void. I had a tech out to my house, which Dish charged me $29.00, and he had never heard of it and told me it was my non-dbs approved connectors? They sent out a new receiver (622) of course the same issue is happening. Every time I call the CSR has no idea what I am talking about, nor does the stupervisor. I told them to send me out two new 722's to replace my 622's to see if they will work or cancel the service. They asked where can they ship the return boxes to and when I would like the service disconnected? I am done, good bye, so long. Six months of not being able to use the DVR, unacceptable. At least acknowledge the problem! Real On Demand Here I come. I can not wait to get back to cable. At least I am trying to convince myself of that.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! JUMP UP AND DOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM!!! 6 MONTHS??

P.S. My system is a DPP with the single feed and seperators. Is anyone not using this type of system having the audio problem?

I have that system and I haven't had an audio problem for 6 months. I don't have HD locals, but I've never noticed any exceptional problems on the few SD channels I watch. I've had the HD freezing problem everybody else has been having, but that's been more like 2 weeks than 6 months.

I do agree with you, though, that having any problem for an extended period of time is ridiculous. When a widespread problem occurs, the sensible thing to do would be to revert to whatever configuration they were using beforehand and test the new configuration privately. For some reason Dish isn't doing this. I've got to wonder what they're doing. Maybe they changed all of their encoders at once or something.

Okay we have a problem with VIP722 and it is getting worse now to the point of driving us crazy. While watching live or DVR event a "Satellite signal lost" error keeps coming on. Was told it could be the OTA losing signal. It is not the OTA. I have tried to make sure that we are not tuned to OTA in any way and it still happens. The other night it kept doing it and I tried changing the tuned channel to each of the 3 sat positions (110/119/61.5) and it gave the same error for each. Yesterday and today trying to watch live TV it was doing it every 30 sec to a minute. Each time pushing DVR or Guide button clears it. Each time there is no loss of program and rewinding reveals nothing missed. TV 2 was tuned to the same channel and it never happened to TV2 only TV 1. This is driving all of us nuts. First thought it was OTA, but definitely not OTA. Have a Dish Tech coming on Monday due to they detected I have low signals and they wanted to send tech for no charge to me. We'll see what happens.

Anyone else been seeing this problem?

Yes, I've occasionally have had this problem but not to the degree you are experiencing. Please post any additional info you might get from the tech visit.

I have just about had it too. I have 2 722's and only have the problem on one of them. I really only happens when there are commercials on the screen. The other times, (regular programming) it's alright.
I get funny squiggly lines running horizontally across the screen in the center of the screen and then it goes "blue" for a few seconds. The sound at these times is ok, but the picture drops. When the regular programing comes up, there isn't a problem. Good thing too. I was just watching Tiger loose the Masters and I wanted to be able to at least see him finish. (Come on Kenny Perry)
Any body else have this particular problem?

I will definitely report back Monday night.

Funny it never seems to happen to me during commercials, only during the program. I too was watching the Masters Sat and it was driving me crazy. Couldn't watch today due to scheduling and have to sleep for working midnight shift. Sounds like an exciting finish for a change.:D

I get up a little early for work, so have a little time to waste before being there at 6:00am. I turned the TV on this morning and as per usual, it wasn't doing it's "thing" with the dropped signal. I wish there would be someone to actually nail this problem down and have a reason and a fix. Thanks for the comment.
Kenny Perry did a pretty good job, considering the pressure. Nice to see a little "change" in the Masters too. Congrats to Angel Cabrera. Nice comeback.

While you may have TV1 and TV2 set for Sat channels and recall will exchange them, in single mode you can SWAP the current one with the OTA tuner, which is still active although not visible.
The trick may be to set the OTA tuner to a strong station that remains on overnight. If you cannot be sure, you might try removing the RF input so that the OTA will not become active.
Having set the OTA, then you can freely use the two Sat tuners.
I have not seen this problem in a while but I only go to the stronger OTAs.
