ok so the question was what should vick do to get back in the nfl? he needs to behave like a decent human being. and after he's reinstated (because he will be) stay on that good behavior. get involved with animal shelters and charities that have to do with the help of animals. show that you really do care about these creatures. stay away from those who don't. make sure your good deeds are known publicly. once in the nfl, participate in their programs that are to help the less fortunate. do what you can to wipe clean the stain of what you did.

While I believe Vick is a jerk (before the dog fighting as I couldn't care less about that) he should be reinstated. As long as it's not on the Panthers or the Eagles I don't care where he goes... hopefully a team as bad as Detroit so he has no chance of success
Don't we have enough problems already? Take him on your team. Mr. Ford may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but he would never sign Vick. If he did, that would be the end of the allegiance of the few fans that actually pay to see this train-wreck of a team.
Those two statements pretty much sum it up for me. There are accidents and isolated incidents. Vick doesn't fall into either category. Playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right. With that privilege comes a lot of responsibility. Let him find a regular job, like the rest of us, who pay to watch his kind (athletes, not dog killers) play sports. He should have thought about the consequences when he was killing defenseless dogs for his amusement.
I'm not an NFL fan so I don't know if my 2 cents count here. However, we shall see just how big the mighty NFL is when he does sign with a team (do the Lions need a QB?) and all of the protests start from PETA, etc. What he did struck a raw nerve with a whole cross-section of people who are just waiting to pounce on him and his team upon his return.
Methinks the NFL might have a bit more on it's hands than it thinks it will.
I agree Paul, but I wish killing defenseless dogs was the only thing Vick did. Hanging, choking, torturing, electrocuting, sadistically beating defenseless dogs for amusement...dogs whose only crime was that they were not mean enough to perform well in their 'fights' set up for his people's amusement. And this is over a period of YEARS.
How a person could enjoy this, let alone fund it for years, I'll never know. You can take this filth of a 'human being' and put him on another team, but not mine.
And if anyone has been paying attention, I've been blasting Pac Man Jones on this site as well.

. defenseless animals that look to us for care. my opinion is that if someone could do this to a poor defenseless animal, what's to say they wouldn't harm a person whom they have a problem with? very disgusting!
What Vick did was defenseless. Like I said, let him go pack groceries, wash cars, etc...He blew his chance at the NFL.

That's what turns people's stomachs. We can all imagine someone like Vick getting hold of our own loving dog, and torturing him or her for his and his friends' amusement. And then doing it to counless other dogs as well while they laugh at the suffering.

You go do just that! These babies look to us for food, shelter, and a lil' love and they give us back TOTALLY UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. There is nothing like it...be it form a dog, cat or any other of our pets.
Me? Love all animals but can't have a dog, so I have two big ol' Tom cats!

I love goldens.
I've got two young children in the house. The older of the two is my youngest son (4 yrs. old) who is two days younger than the dog. My youngest is 18 months. These two have beat the crap out of this dog - pulling on her cheeks, standing on her, pulling her ears, you name it. My golden acts like it's "attention". Not even a growl, no matter what these kids dish out. Great natured dogs. Highly recommended for families with little ones around.
IF he does EVERYTHING Goddell states he has to do to be reinstated....why not? He does not deserve a 2nd chance?
