2010 NCAA Football Season

Hmm. I'm not nearly as critical as Sandra on the Buckeyes.

To me, they ran the ball effectively, they played stout defense. Pryor ran (aka glided) and got first downs when he needed them.

Yes, he still has trouble completing short/intermediate passes with consistency, but that can be blamed on his strong arm. He still needs to develop "touch". As for his long passes, wow. Much improved accuracy from a year ago! He just needs to be allowed to throw longer more often.

As for The Vest. His playbook is what it is. He's been coaching successfully long enough that I trust his judgment. It may not be as exciting or it can be nerve racking at the end of a close game, but seriously. Did anyone ever think Ohio State was at jeopardy of losing this game against Miami? To me, it was a domination. Miami never even threatened us.

Not sure what the problem with the Buckeyes, but they looked pretty good out there.

Careful what you wish for, look at Michigan fans, don't you think they would love to have Lloyd Carr back right about now?

Exactly. I know how bad it can get in a hurry, so savoring the good times is a must. By nitpicking a huge win you lose focus and forget to enjoy the actual win.

LOL but I really didn't enjoy the win!!! As I said, it felt like a loss.

The obvious solution is that I need to be in Cabo for the Buckeyes and Terrell Pryor to play like they are capable of. Now I just have to convince my fiance' of that!

You know, the more I think about it, the two teams with the best shot at the MNC would be tOSU and Boise St. I think the Buckeyes will get there because the have much more talent than anyone remaining on their schedule, and Boise St. should get there because they have such a lame remaining schedule to lose with the talent they have. Although a possibility, the odds of Bama getting past their remaining schedule, plus a conference championship game, are against them (especially doing it 2 years in a row).

What say the masses? :)

I have a ton of things on my mind today after watching Michigan win like they did yesterday, and seeing the Lions lose like they did today.

You can't be a one trick pony and survive the Big Ten schedule, so this season is shaping up to be just like last year. Someone on that team needs to step up and show they can play, Shaw or Smith at running back, Roundtree, Stonum or someone at wideout.

Special Teams are a weakness and will cost us at least one game.

And until the defense proves they can stop someone when it matters, the offense is going to have to press the Denard Robinson button, xbox 360 style, just to win us some games.

Robinson showed me one time, made the decision early in the game, and threw down field when they pinched the corners in and blitzed. It was actually a very nice play and resulted in a touchdown.
The rest of the game, he tucked the ball and tried to run, with very little results.

I agree with everything you say here. This is a very young team, there are 20 sophmores and freshman seeing significant playing time. If Rod survives the winter, he will have a very good team come next fall.

I'd gladly take Boise St. instead of Bama in the MNC! I like the way you think!

I agree with YOUR assessment more than Sandra's.

I'm REALLY glad I didn't get into THAT conversation ....

I hear your moving next week :up

Guy's with all the magic that Robinson is giving you guys, and he's been fantastic.

You were just as HIGH on last years QB at this point in the year too.

Don't mean to dampen the spirits .....

RR offense is definitely taking shape, all you need now is a Steve Slaton to go with him.

After a marquee week 2, what matches jump out at you for this upcoming week?

For me, Iowa/Arizona is the top game- the only battle of top 25 games.

I didn't even realize that many were playing, that much.

Wow.

I hope you are right Paul, because it sure seems like Coach Rod is in over his head here. If his players can win, then I will be happy in the end.

Wilbon on PTI is comparing Denard Robinson to Michael Vick "in his prime at VT".

No one can convince me BSU has any business getting in a BCS game. Over the weekend I saw Sabam state it similar to the Gameday crew. BSU has talent however the need to get up for one or two ranked teams. However unlike Big Ten, SEC, ACC or Pac-10 teams they don't face 4-6 ranked teams.
