2010 NCAA Football Season

I dont know much about this muchamp guy, but if he plans to bring that big 12 style offense to the SEC he better quit now. And someone let him know the SEC does like to play defense also.

Ok I take that back, he does seem to be defense minded at least.

Hmmmm,
Defensive minded and Big 12 ......

Just doesn't seem to go together ....

That said, I like the pick.
I see Florida moved quickly ...... thus keeping Urban from changing his mind again ? :shh

Oh Cam Newton....talk about using the WRONG choice of words when it comes to thanking his parents!!!!!

"...."My parents do a lot of things behind the scenes that go unnoticed, and this is not an award that in my opinion has been won by my play this year. Thank you for everything you did for me."

Hmmm. The last Big-12 coach that jumped to the SEC is at Auburn. Playing Big-12 football seems to work there.

Muschamp is a good coach. He had an awesome defense at LSU in 2003. Wish LSU could've landed him as head coach. Florida did well to get him.

Will Muschamp is SEC minded. Played at Georgia and coached at LSU. More than likely he left Texas for two reasons, 1. Didnt want to wait for Mack Brown and 2. Return to the better Conference.

Big Ten divisions: Leaders and Legends - College Football - Rivals.com

When the Big Ten plays its first conference championship game next season, it’ll be the Leaders division against the Legends division.

The conference, expanding to 12 teams in all sports and adding divisions and a championship game in football starting next season, on Monday also unveiled a new logo and 18 football awards, each named after two standout Big Ten performers.

“The Legends, not too hard in that we have 215 College Football Hall of Fame members, we have 15 Heisman Trophy winners,” Commissioner Jim Delany said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press. “We thought it made perfect sense to recognize the iconic and the legendary through the naming of the division in that regard. … We’ve had plenty of leaders in the conference, that’s for sure, but the emphasis here is to recognize the mission of using intercollegiate athletics and higher education to build future leaders.”

What would you have called it ?

I honestly have not put much thought into it, but it would not have been this.
Dont get me wrong, I am sure given a year or two it wont sound as bad to me, we will all be used to it. Just first impression reminded me of playground days when I was 10 or so.

Same thing I was thinking about it. Wife is a TOSU fan (don't hold it against her, though, she was born a Buckeye) and she said "What were they thinking?" I told her that schools that USED to be good, but weren't any more would be in the Legends division and the teams that COULD play with the rest of the country would be in the Leaders. Better than Leaders and Losers, but not much, which was my 1st take on it. You know they paid someone to come up with these names, just don't think they got their money's worth.

Well, like HD said, it's better than the EAST / WEST boredom you get in a lot of cases.

You can't go by your thoughts there as the Leaders are not all in one division and that will change from year to year.
