Me Tv Chicago is going national

If I lived on top of a hill, I could get AntennaTv from Greensboro,NC. A couple months ago, one of the Charlotte channels changed their weather channel to ThisTv. So we may slowly get one or two more in the next couple years. Also, most of the independent stations were bought out by two other major channel companies and two of three have sub-channels that have same programming on their HD signal.

Please disregard my previous post, found the answer at the top of the Metv show daily schedule. From now on, I will have to think of the shows being shown an hour earlier than scheduled. Thank You.

Ok maybe it's me, but...

1) Why must MeTV show such a large block (3 hours) of Green Screen Adventures for kids on Saturday and Sunday morning instead of other programming?
2) Why are most of the "good" sitcoms and other programming on so late at night or so early in the morning while most people are sleeping?

Earlier this week I was so excited about MeTV and now since it has been on for only 3 days I'm already disappointed.

I would rather have "Me Too" or "Antenna TV". I'm also curious as to how much change we will be seeing next year on RTV and TV Land now since MeTV and Antenna TV are available.

isnt for E/I you need 3 hours? Might as well put it in the morning

I said the same thing the day it launched. When we had the 2 or 3 hour "preview" (with the test tone) the shows were good. Even that night they were pretty good. When they went live 12/15 they changed everything around and put the good shows (for me at least)on Me Too

Me-Tv is not the cats meow, I didn't want to say anything but now I will. I really don't watch it much and I had it for years. It has actually gone down hill from when it first launched in Chicago (then it rocked). Actually lately Me Tv Milwaukee was bettter until they mirrored the Chicago & national feed now. One of the reasons I took the Milwaukee locals with Direct was for Me-Milwaukee. I may move back to Chicago with Direct now.

The EI stuff is to satisfy the FCC I think.

Sound like what happened to RTV, TV Land, MTV and others. However, I shouldn't complain since it does have a few good shows that can easily be recorded if on too early or too late.

They all start out great and go down hill. Even MTV was great once ;)

All these retro channels are going to compete with themselves and many will fail. My bet on the long term winner is RTV. So far there is RTV, Tuff TV, and now PB&J is getting ready to launch according to their facebook page. RTV2 is also in the works and luken wants 10 stations total. There are huge libraries of retro shows we havent seen in years.

I think 2011 is going to be a great year for FTA satellite.

Today's schedule starting at 11AM is not too bad (Brady Bunch, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Family Affair, My Three Sons, I Love Lucy, M*A*S*H, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart, Odd Couple, Taxi, Hogan's Heroes, Phil Silvers Show, Gomer Pyle and Dobie Gillis).

Why was I complaining yesterday?

What I see here locally is they have mixed the 2 channels up. Things that were only on Me are on Me too and vice versa. Saturdays and Sundays always had different programming then weekdays. Right now 8:30 AM CST Me has the Green Screens stuff on, Me Too has Little House on the Prairie.

I'd like to see the Me Too on the channel that has the test bars now. When I get home in the afternoon ME Tv doesn't have much that interest me until Hogan's Heroes....A lot of the stuff I'd love to see at night, is on in the morning. Nothing against those who like FTA channels that show, Bonanza, Rawhide, etc...most of those shows have been on everywhere it seems. Still I'm glad to see something new!....Blind

The reason Weigel mixed the shows between the two channels locally here is they can only play the shows nationally they have national rights for. The ones they put on Me too have rights to air in Chicago only under the contract. The second set of color bars may be used for THIS I heard then the other feed will go dark.

When I spoke with an engineer about this at Weigel a few years back when THIS went national he said they didn't have the rights to broadcast any of MeTv national, that changed now. Who knows maybe someday they will be able to do both but it will take time and probably money to gain national rights.

Right now Brady Bunch on Me, Nancy Drew Hardy Boys Mysteries on Me too. I think RTV has national rights to Nancy Drew Hardy Boys Mysteries or did.

I got it locked in tonight finally here in Connecticut!

Strength 87% and Quality of 37% but its locked in with no breakup. Newheart is on now. :)

Yippie! (Also my local fox station just added Antenna TV to 61-2 over the weekend. Its just a black screen now but soon it will have programming. :)

I wonder why you can't get a stronger Quality since you are using a 10' dish. On my 8' I have a steady Quality of 70%.

I sure hope Antenna TV becomes available in western, PA someday.

each receiver reads different though

Scott which receiver? On my 6 footer the Pansat shows 40 and the Geosat shows 50-55
