How many people are happy with Blockbuster @ Home?

I don't like how cumbersome the interface on our 722k for BB@Home. I wish we could actually do a search for a movie after selecting we want to search for the free titles. Netflix makes searching and STREAMING so much easier. We can't even stream with BB@Home.

Not me when I had them. All the Tuesday New Release, I move them to the top and they never send them to me on time. I waited weeks and months, still no show. I decided to cancel them for this service and go back to the Redbox, Blockbuster machine.

Well yesterday I got an email from Blockbuster saying that my Toshiba blu-ray player will no longer have Blockbuster on it. So no more streaming the latest hits to the dvd player. Another sign that Blockbuster is in it's last days of operation. I see it being closed out by the end of this year. DISH is losing to much to keep it going and the fact that they only have the blockbuster@home open to their own subs, means that their is no room for it to grow to outside customers.

Blockbuster by mail does need to improve. The streaming threw my receiver is nice when nothing else to do.

I'm very unhappy with Blockbuster. I didn't receive a movie this week even though I have 30 titles in my queue. I've been with Blockbuster for over 5 years and never had this happen before. I refuse to order a pay per view which is what I suspect they want from us to make up for the short movie. I told them if this happens again, I'm gone from Blockbuster for good this time.

It's not so good. I'd opt out but I like the Epix channels.
Never use the service to order discs.
Once in a while I'll use the streaming.
Ho hum. It's just not that good.
Roku much better. HBOgo is much better.

I really think dish could have done a much better job then the current model.
I like to stream but dishes interface is slow and clunky.

I had Blockbuster for years. I can honestly say that when Dish took over, it was the biggest drop in service I have ever experienced. I do not know if they just got swamped by new customers, my dvds come from some other location or they dont realize they need more than one copy of a dvd.
I am just now getting dvds that were released 2 months ago. BB will tell you that you have to keep availible titles in your queue. The fact is they are all available at one time, getting them to send them, while they are available, is another story. I have seen available titles sit for over a week and nothing sent. At some point the title will then go to the wait status. That is inexcusable service. Then to say it is the customer not keeping the right titles in their queue, just makes it worse. Like I said I have had BB for years. There were occacional waits but currently 10 of my 11 titles are in wait status. Considering I add about 2 new release titles each week it comes down to a 5 week wait for a dvd. I too keep the service because it comes with the channels I want. I rent the majority of dvds through redbox. Removing dvds after I get them at redbox is why I have only 10 dvds in wait status.

All in all it appears that Dish bit off more than they can chew on this one, as it has definitely taken their service rating down in my case.

And I heard on the local news this morning that Dish announced that it'll be closing another 100 (probably more) stores across the nation, this year... There's only one left in this area (2 months ago, there were 3 in the area). I hope they don't close the only remaining one around here...

500 out of 1500. So only 1000 left to go. I see Swani predicting that DISH will close out Blockbuster by this year's end. I think he is right. DISH is losing too much money on this venture. Blockbuster will go fully to the internet or they will become exclusive to DISH only. I just don't see this model working for either company much longer. Mail business will be slowing down the mail ,due to cutbacks to service. This will slow down the dvds even more.

...This will slow down the dvds even more.

okay, I've had BB by mail since Dish launched the program (not having either BB or netflix before) and now you are saying even slower...I ship a disc back on Monday morning and by the time I get home Wednesday evening I have a new disc in my mailbox...how was it faster than that before? Pretty sure netflix couldn't do it any faster. Even if the disc showed up on Thursday I would still say that isn't a bad deal...

I received an e-mail from blockbuster this past week that said they would not be on my Sharp tv by the end of the month. I like the BD service, it started out slow. I ordered on monday it would get here saturday. From Pittsburgh to Charleston WV. Now usually 3 days. We have yet to get a game, we have them on the list.

BB made a net profit of 1million dollars in the 4th Qtr of 2011. The stores closing are the non profitable stores, which will increase the net profit. If the other stores are making money, why close them.

Seems like bockbuster is following DISH 's path to profitability. Less subs, less stores , less venues to be watched on, more profits, no future as a company if they continue to follow the same path. Sad.

BBMP is geting worse and longer to get disc i order so i cancelled it :)

I was paying $10 for the HD Platinum package. Now I receive 1 disk at a time usually twice a week and have many choices of movies to stream. Unlike Netflix, I can also get Blu Ray disks or games for the same price. I am very pleased with the added value. In addition I can watch many movies on my computer. Good job Dish. Direct TV does not offer any movies by mail. You offer much more value than Direct TV.
