microHD Development: Feature Requests

Now that I've discovered news feeds on 30W, really don't want to undelete so many channels. Anything worth keeping is made a favorite -- so to selectively NOT delete stuff from the favorite list would be of benefit. Maybe that already is the case, but I'm reluctant to try it.

After blind scanning a satellite I like to check out what I just scanned on that satellite. So I exit back to video..mash exit on the moving nag. I hit enter and it has a list of all my channels on all satellites. It should default to just the satellite we just scanned. If I highlight the channels I can't tell what satellite it is on, so I press right or left to get to the satellite I am on, but it starts at the beginning of the arc and I have to mash right a bunch of times to get to the one I want and the dish moves again of course. Kinda of annoying when you scanning around and want to see what goodies you found.

On other receivers that would allow you to review the channels you just blind scanned before going back to the menus, you didn't need this feature.

It does something like that if you enable "Satellite Meter" in "System Settings" , "Other".

In previous versions it used to be called "Tone" ... I think that "Satellite Meter Tone" or
"Meter Tone" would be a better name than what it is called now.

However It would be nice if you could enable or disable the tone on the signal menu
and I would like a larger signal screen that take up the whole screen, or allow zoom for the current meter.

Yes, it is in a menu function, and the signal bar button; not in the motor/control/loud tone AREA

And yes; I also still want the display of the pids on the screen like they are; only after pressing the info button twice, like it needs a table somewhere else; like in the edit channel area, where each pid shows per channel; and not in the program tp; where it is not anything but manual entry of one pid set; but does not show what you entered unless you can see the channel and press info twice.

It appears that one of the first things that the MicroHD does when turning on is check the LNB status. When you slave the MicroHD (LNB power off) to another receiver the unit will not boot until you unplug the LNB cable. You can then let the unit boot and plug the LNB back in and all is good. However, It would be much nicer if the firmware checked to see if LNB power was off and not check the status of the LNB when booting. Would that be possible?

Don't know if this has been addressed yet, but I find that whenever changing channel, there is a slight delay of at least a second before the peoples, places, or
things start moving.

I am still playing with it, so this is a learning curve for me.

I believe that Iceberg already mentioned this, but will ask again, could the next upgrade please include a very good up to date Satellite TPs. That is all the things that came to my attention.

Thank You.

do you have timeshift on? I noticed with timeshift on there is a slight delay (must be buffering)

I have another feature request. How about when in the motor setup screen have the tone beep default to off and hit a button on remote if I need it.

Yeah I see that, that was some sort of strange thing. It was on last night, every time I went to setup and different bird I was blasted with a tone. I unplugged and moved it to another room today for testing and it went away....beats me.

That is handy. The HD8240 uses the mute button to toggle the tone while in setup mode. It remains selectable as long as you are in that mode, then defaults to off when you exit the sat configure page.

Oh, the info button twice in a row puts up an advanced display showing the channels sat + freq/pol/sr + VID /AID /PCR + FEC + signal type + video resolution + signal level + Signal quality. It works great, however, once selected, it does not time out and go off the screen; I've had it working on the screen now for 5 hours; and it stays. Is it possible to put displays like it on the timeout; where they will disappear after so many seconds?

In addendum: keep it like it is, it's just like the motor screen, but won't beep; it stays on and on and on...could be added to list of time-out displays?

Finally found that, good for you! Guess what happens when you hit it a THIRD time? ;)

Personally, I don't WANT it to automatically time out, because it's useful to leave up when you are tweaking the dish!

Press the Info key a third time or exit key to remove the advanced information display.

Purposely set for no timeout like most information screens. Would need discussion in another thread if timeout is warranted on information screens.

The info screen does go off with the remote; yes; but some screens automatically go off. If the screen is serving no other purpose than it should go off automatically, or not, like "program to memory" spaces used to hold the screen on (menu and use and programming for scanning).

The screen is easily shut off with the remote, do not need it to go off automatically, but it would be nice...

Most info screens do have timeout applied; like the "channel lists" info stay up as long as you leave them (because they are menu driven), but once you select the channel, another info screen comes in, and goes out automatically. Or if you only press the info button once; it times-out; and then says teletext services not avail.!

For Instance: When you first plug in electrically, anything; it "boots" up; does the last thing it was doing; shows the info screen; AND STOPS RIGHT THERE! No, the screen goes off!

Didn't see an answer to this. Could this be done?

Should I report this in the bug section?
