How high is your BUD mounted ?

Snow is melting, BUD installin' is some upon me. My goal is to install a BUD discretely without attracting attention.

Am guessing there is no minimum as long as it's got a clean LOS. How high/low is yours?

All of mine are mounted at approximately 1200' high...above sea level.

I say the lower the better if you have LOS, just get them off the ground far enough for snow clearance, mowing...and keeping Steven Wright from easily crawling in and taking a nap.

5.5ft to the top of the pole. Gives about 2ft to the bottom lip clearance to the ground on the 10. (A bit less now with the Ku dish mounted there) Your latitude will 'come to play' in this. Further south = more clearance.

7' for my 10 foot BUD. Perfect height all around, for clearance, yet not too tall for setting it in the first place. Also, if they are mounted much higher, it's nearly impossible to get to the lnb's for working on when motored to the highest part of the arc.

You really don't want to make a big stretch on a tall step ladder, and fall into your dish! That can happen if one of the ladder legs starts sinking into the ground... I place a flat board under mine to keep that from happening...

Mine is up too high, I think its 9 feet off the ground, means I need to get on a ladder to work on the LNB.

My 10ft is up 6 feet to the mount, & my 7.5ft is up a little over 7 feet to the mount.
