Seems to be gone on 58w C as well. Doing a re-scan now.

AJ English and AJ Arabic are now $.

Yep, even the one labelled Al Jazeera International at 3840 V 27688 is gone.

Also no longer works on the Roku - - when you hit play it does nothing.

I'm kind of late to the party on this. Why does AJ want to scramble? Don't they want to get their viewpoints out to Americans? Kind of hard to do that if they are scrambled and don't stream. Who does carry them?

I still haven't seen any rational explanation as to why they had to take down the international news when their new channel is supposed to be all American news.

I guess this is just another demonstration of my longstanding belief that economics is a religion rather than a science, and thus should have no place as a decisionmaking factor in a free society.

I would hope this pushes many of you to move to C Band if at all possible, as France24 on 121W is a much better news source than anything we get in the U.S. they provide real world news, without the bias as AJ and without fluff and puppy stories like our main three networks.

Yes-they wanted to get their signal out to Americans-BUT cable companies refuse to carry them unless they scramble the signal. Why give anything away to a handful of fta watchers? Sorry, but this is the way it works here. To get carriage, you conform to their rules.

I'm guessing it's gone from 121W C-Band as well? According to LyngSat it was supposed to be on the same transponder as France 24.

I'm shocked they would pull it from 58W as that was the only satellite (according to AlJAzeera's own website) that you could receive the signal in South America. I honestly can't fathom why they consider the already over-saturated US news market more important then getting their signal out to a large corner of the WORLD.

Hopefully everyone that hasn't sent them comments will do so now. Let's make AlJazeera know how displeased we are!

But my understanding is that it isn't just the fta signal in the U.S that is blocked...also on line too...unless you work around it...just my opinion but I think they underestimated the number of fta and web viewers they had...probably more than they have today on the pay service. Turbo I agree with your last line but still don't like it lol

Streaming video still available in Mexico.

Bummer to see they also went scrambled on 58w C band, as I was looking into that option.

Al Jazeera website still lists Galaxy 19 (97W) and Intelsat 9 (58w) as the only 2 satellites carrying their signal to the Americas.

I see no update on the Globecast website, I wonder if they will offer AJE by subscription, but no it doesn´t make sense, none of this makes any sense.

I'll move my fixed dish back over to 58 tomorrow and find out if its there! Why couldn't they scramble that stupid RT channel instead, lol.

You have a problem with it because it goes against the grain of the mainstream media news channels most of the time, or what?

I too checked 58W C-Band last night right after midnight and it was gone. :(

Any Luck Scott!

Actually... YES.

The Alien 2 has both the SD and HD stream of AJE working fine. :) The HD feed looks good!

its funny as on the bottom of the screen in the headlines scrolling on the screen they are advertising AJ America saying that it launches today and to contact your cable or satellite provider... the big issue is no one (unless they have one of these ALien 2's or use a proxy) can see it.
