'NCIS' : New Orleans

Way back in the 50s ABC had several Warner Bros produced detective shows that were interchngeable except for the city----they even did lots of crossovers and when one show was cancelled a character moved to another.

If they have something successful they will do whatever they can to milk it.

As long as Captain Archer doesn't beam in and out of Nrw Orleans too many times he may be a good enough actor to make his new role believable.

Mannix, Canon, Barnaby Jones et all...they were all basically the same show, but with a different lead and supporting actors.

Nothing beats the old Maverick. Same title, 4 different leads, Brett, Bart, then Beau, and finally Brent. It was even followed up years later with Young Maverick, aka Ben.

Good shows, Cannon, Barnaby Jones.... a Quinn Martin production, streets of SF was the other QM show that I remember from those days.

Don't forget Jag ....

Thats there NCIS got it's start.
Actually I think it was NIS at the time it started.
Actually never watched JAG,don't remember why, just watching other stuff back then I guess.Didn't start watching NCIS til the 4th or 5th season, but once I started got all caught up with the repeats on Sleuth. Now,if it's Tuesday,I know what I'm watching.:D

For introducing these New Orleans guys, they should do a cross over with the other NCIS offices. That would be a very nice trilogy since NCIS and NCIS LA have not had a crossover since the beginning of LA.

More than likely , thats how it will happen.

We can hope it would be great to have the 3 shows combined to say a 3 part episode on each show or the new show would be fine!! imo :)

Hmm, didnt know that ....
From the way I heard, Jag came first and NCIS was a spin off of that and NIS was the begining of NCIS.
They just had Gibbs wearing NIS sweats to show that's he's been at NCIS for a while.

The navy redid NIS back in '92, when they made it solely into a criminal investigation group and removed all spy components from it. As Gibbs was in Desert Storm ('91), at most he was in NIS for a year prior to it being changed into solely "navy cops".

Jag came on the air in '95.

I remember the reshuffle, because I went into the Corps in '93 and the reshuffle was part of our informational training on the UCMJ.

NCIS started in 2003.
