Whats your opinion on the lava hd2605 antenna?Im thinking of getting one for my attic.How does the motor romote work?is it wifi? what kind of range does the remote have?

I was surprised to see one with a motor for so cheap until I saw this in a review:

I do like that it has two coax connections on it rather than needing a splitter.

why the heck would you walk outside to aim the antenna when there is a amplifier box that is inside and you aim the remote at that?
if it is like the other units around the web on the amplifier there is a 6 foot piece of rg59 cable to hook up to one tv and a connector on the back for another tv. Also the cable from the unit is RG59 and is hardwired into the antenna.
Sorry, but it appears designed to catch buyers more than TV signals.
Antenna design is a mature field. Anything "new" and so unusual looking has a lot of proving itself to do. This one hasn't.
You need to decide if you need to pick up both VHF and UHF signals, or just UHF. This will guide your antenna selection. And I am referring to the transmitted frequency, not the advertised frequency. They are no longer the same. BTW, VHF only markets are rare- I'm not sure ANY still exist.
I once had a batwing antenna, the StealthTenna. It worked pretty well. Comes with and without a preamp. It MIGHT fit and rotate in your attic. But you really need to consider your signals, including how distant and how far apart.

I'm in a VHF only market. VHF Low to be exact. But then again there is just one channel here (KXGN 5)
only other one off top of my head is presque isle, maine
WAGM 8 (CBS/FOX) and PBS 10

I think the only VHF station people will really look for in central CT is WTNH on rf 10 (8.1).
A UHF bow tie antenna would probably be your best investment for attic mounting and if you want to try multiple directions a rotor would be needed. A Winegard HD 1080 is a UHF/VHF antenna that Solid Signal has starting at $24.99 for a refurb. I am using one at 63 miles from Dallas but our land is much flater, 22.1 from Springfield might be marginal. Your photo album on this site shows you have a two story house so your attic is higher it also shows some of the trees around you. Could you move some to this thread to give others more information about your location?

I'd try a Stealthhawk DIY project. Mount in the attic or outside above a jpole. Omnidirectional so there's no need to rotate it.
If you want any chance of 22.1, you'd need a vhf-hi/uhf antenna. My DB8 is aimed right at Springfield and I've never had it come in (from New Britain).
Yea it seems that the disadvantage of Digital is less range vs analog.I remember growing up in the 60s and 70s in New Britain and getting WWLP fairly strong with rabbit airs.Also remember getting a few NYC stations as well but snowy.
I may give it a try if I can find the time!I saw a video on how to make it and it seems simple enough and I can find most of the materials here at home.

One of my neighbors up the street has one mounted on the eaves of his porch but I think it's broken, cause it never moves from a SW position. I'd ask him about it, but he's the person on our street that doesn't get along with anyone and I talk to him as little as possible..

If you haven't already done it check out the Winegard HD 1080 it is a VHF/UHF with the flat design of a 2 bay UHF antenna so it is small. Yes METV is an important channel to get
but note in the next couple months they (wzme) is losing the affiliate
kvnv is moving from Nevada to New Jersey (due to a fcc loophole) and is going to be the MeTV affiliate for NY
