After KE4EST gave me his approval on my stub shim, I ordered that DS3100 last night from solid signal.

Larry, thanks for that suggestion as I had thought of drilling and tapping it AFTER I get the dish "tuned" in.

Brian, I do have some of that stuff, ie, sticky back on one side with like real course sand paper on the other side. I used that stuff on the floor of the dragster I had to help me get enough of a foot hold to get my phat arse out of it. :biggrin I might try that if the tapped hole and 1/4x20 SS bolt in one side doesn't work.

Now I've got to figure out where I want to put the mounting post.

Thanks guys!!

I like the Winegard DS3100. Well made dish, but a little heavy for a motor @13v. If you have motor power issues, there are some unconventional hookups to help that problem. Once you get that dish on track I think you will be very happy with it. :)

That did it. Thanks Scott!

Anyone know if the antennae weight of 22lbs includes the LNB feed arm and the sidestruts? Just curious as my starchoice one weighs 33 lbs, but it has the four teeth grips and four carriage bolts.

Thanks, Catamount

Dish was delivered about an hour ago and is already together. How they can ship that via FedEx for $20 is beyond me?? The actual dish measurement is 44" tall x 41" wide? Reflector measures 43" x 40". That shipping box is 44 1/2" x 47 1/2" x 7"?

Ennywho, I picked out a spot for it so now I've just got to get my arse in gear and dig a hole. Thinking about using a piece of 3.5 inch pipe I already have and making an adapter to hold this Ku dish on that. If this dish doesn't work out, then there's that 10.5' Raydx that's still on a temp mount on my car trailer that might need a permanent mount.

So many toyz and not enough space!
