Carbon UI Issues Thread

When viewing a program and you press the "Search" key, it would pre-fill that program name in the search field. Hitting enter would show all instances of that show, including upcoming viewings, episodes on your DVR, etc.

Now it makes it # 0 in the "popular search" list and selecting it just gives you the "Info" screen for that episode. It no longer finds other episodes.

I did, by accident, hit a key (Cancel ?) that actually gives the old behavior but can't remember it now.
Picking a result from the search now shows all episodes

Not thrilled they took the green button (edit) out of the Recordings section. We use it slot to set up Autoplay a lot when the little ones are watching their shows. I realize you can still use Autoplay, but it takes a few more button pushes to do it.

I have a weird problem or this is another bug. When i pick up something to watch from ehd, all screen becames black except a small square on the right upper of the screen starts showing the show. This happened three times so far. Hope i was able to explain it clearly. To fix it you have to exit from the show, ehd then start over again.

I took the plunge and did the upgrade on my HWS starting just before 1 a.m. It took about 30 minutes and is now working. So far I have no complaints about how things are working and I love that CUI allows the creation of additional folders to store recorded content. I don't know what the limit is, but I was able to make 2-3 extra ones beyond the limit with the old UI.

At first, my Super Joey was not being recognized, but I did the reset thing with the Joey and it came back on, after a short time, with the CUI.

I wish the program guide still showed a full 3 hours, but I don't have many complaints with the CUI thus far.

But I'm sure I'll have some issues to report as I use it more & more.

Home media works with Playon media server streams but not with recordings

I'm on U203 and my home media is working fine reading from a hard drive attached to my router. Video, music and photos all seem to be working better than they were on S529 HWS

That's the same setup I have - with an Asus RT-N66 router.

I also have a Plex media server running on one of our PCs but I can't play back from it either.

Mine has done exactly the same thing as I run CUI U203. I had to reboot the hopper. Hopefully this is a bug that will be fixed soon.

Found an issue with prioritizing your timers. When moving a timer recording up or down your list of recording, the text can sometimes get corrupted. This happens if you change location, then scroll up or down to see the new position on the list and the UI does not refresh, however, after it refreshes, everything is correct. Minor issue but it is there.

This evening I've had problems with live TV on both my HWS and SJ. For example, I pressed the backward button on the SJ several times to jump back about 18 seconds from the live program. Instead of beginning the chasing playback from that position, the picture went into pause and just froze on the screen. The play button, pause button, etc. did not help as it remained frozen until I went up a channel and then back to the original channel. This has happened many times under the old UI, so nothing has changed with the CUI.

I'm also having similar issues with the HWS. So tonight has not been a very good night for the "jump back" feature on the HWS & SJ.

EDIT: To clarify the problem I was having with the WHS, it was actually after I used the jump back button and was watching "chasing playback." The problem happened when I pressed the LIVE TV button and it refused to function. This has happened numerous times and I then have to use the jump forward button to make my way back to live TV.
