Two Hopper 3 Install is Scheduled

Something to do with the DHP42 switch. There's a way around it but one of the folks who've gotten (2) H3s in the past week would have to comment.
I think the required download can be done if the H3 is connected to a dish with Hybrid LNBs and Solo Hub. Then the H3 when connected to a DPH42 switch will work. But, I am not sure of all that.

That's accurate, or you can just use a hybrid LNB and no hub at all. :)

That's probably true. The problem is, my configuration doesn't have a Hybrid LNB in it.

I am really hijacking this thread now, is it true the old Hopper w/sling remote cannot be paired with the Hopper 3? If so, how can I restore my settings/timers?

Dish just did me a favor and swapped the H3. I do not have to return it. They will take it and not charge me for a new one.
Awesome, you give me ammo to call the DISH President office and see if they will credit my account a $100. Good job monroef. I sure didn't have any luck on my install.

Yes, the old HWS 40.0 remote can be paired to the Hopper 3. I have 11 of them paired to my Hopper 3 / Joey system. Don't let the technician take your old remotes.

Had a chance to try out the Hybrid Duo Hub. Both H3s, both 4KJs, & both WJs are working great. All can see either Hopper in the DVR Sources menu. I will see how goes it for any issues that might pop up.

That defiantly works. I added a second H3 from DishDepot, I connected it to a Hybrid LNBF and downloaded the latest firmware and activated it. Then hooked up the DPH switch. The installers should have a hybrid LNBF to hook to a Dish 1000 antenna to do this and then install the DPH42.

My DISH technician kind of knew that. The problem is there is no LNBF that will work on a 1000+ dish from my understanding of things. That is the one of the reasons for the development of the DPH42 switch.

Can you fix that cable that goes from the DHP42 (??) and over the 'node' (?) to the splitter ? The radius doesn't follow the inner cable's radius nicely and it bugs me !! :D:D:D
LOL, ok Hall, but not today. I am sick of that there f----- board and all this latest install experience. Going to sit back and enjoy my new Hopper 3 system. It has been so nice not having conflicts. The Hopper 3s sure run a lot better than the HWSs. :rolleyes
