Clicked on “List” so I could watch some recorded programs, to find everything is gone. Update came through last week and all was good, with recorded list at nearly 60%. Very strange and wife isn’t happy. Any ideas as to what could happened??

Did you try a restart?

I was going to do that, but it was late and my wife was watching one of her shows. I will try that later tonight when I get home. Can I do a reboot from the DirecTV app, out of home??
No ...

You can do a receiver reauthorization from an online account (not from the app). But not a restart.

sometimes recordings are lost during an update. i have had it happen
i have read it can be a sign of a hard drive having issues.

i would call and ask for a warranty replacement receiver

Although I've noticed, at least with the old HDUI, that following an update, sometimes the box comes up in some kind of strange mode. Perhaps a diagnostic or test mode or something. And you can always tell this because the recordings all disappear and the menu icons are very incomplete and have a different shade of color to them.

A reboot or perhaps two usually restores things to normal. The new UI may have the same characteristic.

Reboot did nothing. It's not so bad losing the shows. It's trying to remember which ones they were, so I can go find them elsewhere.
