Can Dish just leave their equipment and hardware mounted to the side of my house. I remove it there will be damage to the side of my house

I would have told him to give me the LNB and just climbed up and switched it on the existing dish or install a DPH42 depending on what you have instead of letting him mount another dish

So I just finally upgraded to a Hopper3 from my 722. The First tech, last week, could not go up on roof because of snow, so had to reschedule. The tech that came out this week informed me they would not be able to go on my roof because of safety rules from dish. He installed a third dish on my roof(near the edge). Very disappointing as I built access into the chimney when I built the house just for dish install which now can't be used. Now I am left with a bunch of dish scrap left on my roof, including three mounts and two dish's, that I will have to find someone else to remove.

If you can't fix that yourself, you'll have to find a contractor who will go on your roof to do it right. One alternative is to buy a DPH42 switch and install it on your old dish. That has the issue of needing 3 cables from DPP LNB to switch, which may or may not exist. The switch also has the added benefit of being able to run two H3's on one dish.

At 76, I can still do pretty much everything I need to, but many things are nowhere near as easy as they used to be.

I'm with you NYDutch. I can get up onto my lower garage roof fairly easily, and I used to just take a run up to the peak and jump onto the higher house roof when I was younger. I don't do that any more!

I spent my whole life and career up and down ladders and rooftops. At 70, my balance, coordination, strength, eyesight, and confidence have all diminished to the point I'm not even comfortable anymore stepping onto the roof off of a good ladder. Coming down is even trickier.

At this age, a broken leg is more than just an inconvenience. It's the difference between living on my own and managed care.

This day comes for most of us, earlier for some than others.

Are you sure you want to remove them? If they aren't leaking now why gamble.

Probably will remove the dish's and leave the bottom mounting brackets alone. There is already one up there that was left by an installer that kept moving the dish around because he couldn't get a signal and wouldn't listen when I told him the new lnb he had was no good.

Yes, this. For me it came at 64 yrs old, but I'm glad to write a check these days for any roof walking.

At my previous house (when I was younger), ended up with both an old Hughesnet and unused Dish on the roof, just removed the dishes & left the mast/mount so to keep the roof waterproof. After my move to a downtown area, Dish had stopped roof mounts & I'm glad. They put in a nice post mount, and now when we get snow, (rare) I can just brush it off the dish.
