Flag Football as an Olympic sport .... :facepalm

The NFL has been working on playing Flag football for YEARS now.

Say what you want about Baker Mayfield, but he is a HUGE upgrade to Sam “I’m seeing ghosts” Darnold. I honestly think the Panthers can now challenge for a playoff spot in a watered down NFC.

Mayfield will be surprised to see the O Line isn't QUITE the one the Browns had ....
Wonder how many games he'll actually complete.

We'll see. He is going to have one heck of a chip on his shoulder in Carolina, and he seems to have the drive to make the most of it. I was done with the Browns a few years ago, and the ownership continues to manage to make me hate their ownership more. The whole Watson deal and how they ripped Mayfield publicly couldn't have been much worse. The teams coaching is crap and they just blamed Mayfield, the guy that helped lead the Browns to an actual win in the playoffs.

Baker Mayfield is 8-20 vs teams with a winning record.
That is only 2 fewer wins than the Browns had in the 4 seasons prior to him being drafted.

Mayfield is 30-30 in his first 4 seasons. Need to go back 9 seasons prior to him to get to that number of wins in Cleveland. Mayfield isn't a HoF QB, but he is the absolute best they've had behind the center... well, since the franchise came back to Cleveland.

With the revolving door policy on head coaching and management in Cleveland, I find it amazing that the coaching in Cleveland doesn't get pounded as much as Mayfield does by some football fans. The Browns coaching isn't particularly good.

I've been a Browns fan how about 50+ years. this new Browns is like a step mom or dad to me. that said the chance to get Watson is/was a no brainer.
for all the reasons we could ever type. he might be the most talented Ever behind center for the Browns... Otto Graham agrees with me ..LOL
I'll wait a year if need be. waited All my life already.

Then you know Mayfield has done better for the Browns that any other QB since coming back. And that he shows up every week. What the Browns management did to him was a disgrace.

Indeed, one needed no brains to leverage the farm to trade for a single player, and then leverage everything else to pay that player... who might not even play this year. The Browns aren't going to have much cap space left for next year, the only year they might be good enough to be in the playoffs.

This team might not even make the playoffs with Watson at the helm.

I'm not a hater of Baker but a realest. and they both were bad in this ending.

You are having Fan .............no knowledge of football troubles. not hard as a browns fan. but look away and find the trouble your are seeing anywhere else. as in a QB making Top QB money and it cost that player going to the playoffs. not a thing. we get on the Packers for not drafting players for Rogers, but that's that. yep I know TB12 & his history comparing him to Watson.... go ahead make my day.

Baker got the Browns to the playoffs. Beat the Steelers in the playoffs. The guy played hurt. He didn't have any bad ending. The Browns organization does though, with the prospect of paying Mayfield $600,000 or so to play against them!

Incoherence of the above text aside, look, it's simple. The Browns gave up too many picks for Watson. The Browns guaranteed too much money to maybe play football for them. Watson got an incredible deal, so incredible that the Browns are limited in signing other players. It was a financially reckless deal. Anything short of getting to the Super Bowl will make this a failure.

And this is assuming he plays every year of the contract! If he gets suspended this year, he'd have gone two seasons without playing in the NFL. A great deal of rust. A great deal of unknowns.

Cleveland well overpaid a level of what'd be considered sure thing money for a player that might never be as good as he was. Oh yeah, was it mention that he has played in warm climates his entire life and Cleveland / AFC North is far from warm come November?

I guess we will have to wait and see how Watson plays out. what is known now is No NFL team was willing to part with a 4th round pick or higher for Baker.
I'm on the record for Watson, you are not. lets see who's right.

Of course no one would part for more with Mayfield. Firstly, they knew the Browns didn't need him. So there wasn't an implied value. And then the Browns management did a great job talking him down to the press. Also, as we saw with the Watson trade, the Browns suck at trading.

We'll see with Watson... maybe. He'll have to play first. And that might be after not playing in the NFL for two years. And the ransom they are paying him, limits their free agency capabilities next year. The time to win is this year alone, while they have the backfield and offensive line. It could already be too late next year. '

They gave up too much for Watson, paid too much to Watson. A guy that might never play a snap for the Browns... and very rarely plays in the cold. The Browns need to visit the Super Bowl to have made it worth it. Going 8-8, 9-7 at the price they paid will be a failure. Look at the Patriots, Steelers, Colts and how they built teams, it wasn't like this. And the Bucs signed Tom Brady for less money, but he was a tad bit more of a sure thing... to actually take snaps.

There are plenty of Browns fans that think the Watson trade was a great deal. I've also been hearing from Browns fans about how this will be the year for about six years. These people never learn.
