I was flipping through the sports channels this afternoon and STO is showing all programming here in Tennessee. Does this mean that STO and DirecTV have finally reached an agreement regarding full-time carriage? Will this mean that STO's Tribe exhibition game feeds will be shown the rest of this spring? Any clarification woud be appreciated!

Sports time ohio is quite full time yet, but they have had programming on since about a month ago, wether or not its full time I have no idea.

I watched a spring training game on STO earlier this month. Worked fine - I have sports pack and do not receive STO as my RSN.

We have been totally blacked out of all STO programming here in Tennessee. No spring training feeds of STO games have been shown in our area, and no other programming has been shown either. This is entirely new for us today, so that was why I was asking about a carriage agreement. I knew that D* and STO both took a lot of heat from Cleveland fans last year about the blackout issues. Dish carried STO, but D* didn't last year on the sports package,

I live in western New York and still get the message "not available in your area".

I have to add that even though I live in New York I am considered in the Indians market. I had enjoyed the Indians on Fox Sports Ohio on Directv until the invention of STO.

The real problem is that even though I am in the Indians market the only way I can watch the Indians is by getting the Dish network.

Even by buying the Extra Innings package won't work...as this is for only "out of market games" as I am as previously stated "in the market". Even can't get the games over the internet via the MLB website pay to view.

I have argued many times with Directv reps that I am either in the market or out of the market. If I am in give me the Indians....

If I am out of the market give me the Indians on the Extra Innings package.

I am really considering emailing my US senator...

If you don't live in the greater Cleveland area and are receiving STO please post where you are located and any of your comments here.

My Zipcode is 14063

Thanks

i remember last yr recieving cle games on mlb EI .i live out of their market in central pa.zip 17701. those games were on STO .

Still blacked out here...

Based on the zip you posted, 14063

Why again are you thinking you get this RSN's league games? You will not be allowed to see league games outside you own market, especially on out of market RSNs. What am I missing. Not that I buy into STO's answers as 100% fact considering the Dolan ownership tie (of Cablevision fame), BUT, is this you? http://www.sportstimeohio.com/directv411.php

I am in the Indians market as designated by major league basball, and had received the Indians games when they were broadcast on FoxSports Ohio before last year when the Indians created SportsTime Ohio. Directv doesn't think that we are in the market even if MLB does. A stated in the link that you posted :

"The Cleveland Indians have a designated home TV territory as set by MLB. Although Northwest OH, Southeast OH, Western PA, Western NY and parts of KY and WV are all located within the Indians home TV territory, DirecTV feels that the channel is not of interest and therefore unnecessary to their paying customers that reside in these areas. "

I hope this answers your question.

Besides that please explain how a post by member lou_do in Melbourne Florida stating he is getting STO and I can't.

DirecTv doesn't make the blackout rules for any of the sports packages. They are made by the teams themselves. DirecTv has to follow what they are given from the leagues.

The reason I get it is because I subscribe to the RSN package and they allow most of the preseason games to be broadcast to the subscribers of the RSN Sports package.

I also subscribe to the RSN package. And MLB considers my zipcode in the Indians market.

I still can't figure how you can watch and I can't.

Do the Indians play the the Grapefruit League down there in FLA? Maybe locals affiliates get carriage rights during the spring as part of the deals down there.

Who knows, sports BO rules the leagues setup, along with the politics, and all the different side deals they have are a total scourge on all the respective sports and their fans.; local and distant. 99 times out of 100 I know it the originator that is at fault, contrary to what they say on their site, they are the ones that gain by the rights control, and its the DBS companies that have nothing to gain by holding subs/people out.

But this 1 out 0f 100 it is DirecTV holding you out; WHY? what do they gain other than a pissed off sub? Thats why it makes no sense to me.

If you subscribe to the RSN package and are not getting it, then something is wrong. You should get it either way, as you area team or iof it isn't through your RSN subscription. I would call D* and ask about it. Could be a mistake. I have had simular problems with some of the HD hockey games, that I should have been getting and wasn't. A call to them usually straighten it out.

Indians/Astros game is on now, w/ RSN Sports package.

At 8:30 , in OHIO, Toledo to be more accurate, an area that is definatly an Indians area, bercause they won't let me have the much closer Detroit market games without paying extra .... the Indians channel 657 shows "Program not available in your area"

I do pay extra for the Sport Pack. and I do get FSN Ohio, but no Indians are on FSN Ohio anymore.
I wish D* would do away with the blackouts !!!!

It's quite interesting that other people in other areas of the country can get this but I cannot.

Jimbo

If I were you, I would be on the phone to them now. At least see what they have to say, about it.
