THANKS! My AVR is like 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old - its a Pioneer 1018. That's GOOD news - mine will probably be OK - hope so. It's been several years since I used SAT....I never viewed SD on Comcast.......would only watch all their HD channels......will be forced to go back to SD with this economics...

I will soon be getting D* HD Receiver installed - I presently have Comcast, with their receiver I go from HDMI OUT to a IN of my Pioneer AVR.....and an HDMI OUT of AVR to HDMI IN of my HDTV.....thus, both picture and sound signals are transmitted via that one HDMI cable - for great PQ and Sound...

I am about to sign up with D* for first time [on-line] I require HD and future 3D capabilities..........BUT in filling out my Order it says nothing about whether the [no model #] HD Receiver I order has 3D capabilities. I sure would like to know before I order so I don't have to replace the 1st...

That is exactly WHAT I was wondering........that would meant that D* Receivers auto down convert to 480P on probably most programming transmissions - RIGHT?:confused:

Are you saying here that if one has a 1080i/p HDTV capable of 1080x1920 and you set the D* reciever to that top resolution - that the receiver defaults back down to 480p? My Comcast receiver auto defaults to 720P after you turn it off and back on. Please respond ASAP - seriously...

I am presently with Comcast, but I stumbled over here and see that DTV has this NEW "service" called 2PC. I have a HTPC connected up to a 61" HDTV and a DTV CSR told me that I could connect in one of their DTV HD Receivers into my HTPC and Router etc......and watch everything straight thru...
