How big of a deal are the problems you have found with the Hopper 3?

I've seen few posters say that they want to wait on getting the upgrade due to all of the problems they see on here. I'm not sure if they are actually reading what some of the problems are or not. I think some just look at how many pages there are and just assume the Hopper 3 is riddled with issues.

I thought it would be nice to see if anyone finds the bugs to be too serious and not worth upgrading to or not.

I decided to hold off.
Dish is shipping me another H2WS
I'm going to wait another year +.

I've just see enough issues with lock ups, various PQ issues, VOD downloading and streaming issues.

Now most of you guys don't mind the little bugs, But I don't want to have to reboot the only receiver I have in the 6 room setup because of lock ups.

I just feel it's too early, and if I'm seeing the same issues by even a couple people here in the threads ,Imagine what out in the real world.

No offense but some members here will always downplay an issue to try and save face, over actually reporting and addressing issues.

So from the posts I've seen here between the post I've see at the Dish Chat, as well as Facebook, I've seen a few of the same repeated bugs. And the Locked screen is enough for me to not upgrade at this time.

With the exception of my Joey 1.0, my dual Hopper setup has worked flawless since basically day 1.
No 72 hour waits on what may or may not Populate in the Guide or VOD, No locked black boxes on the screen, and I've yet found a TV that the PQ was affected by the set top box from Dish or Directv because of improper compatibilities with TV manufacturers.

Do I think these won't be addressed?
Sure they will. When I'm ready to upgrade it will be all fixed.
Until now, I'm staying with My 2-HWS , 2 Joey, and -1 211z.

I feel the opposite about the bugs posted on here. The majority of members here are power users and find bugs that the average user would never see or even notice. Not many people realize they can transfer timers. Very few people have EHDs to transfer shows over. Not many are even worried about watching 4k content yet.

I've not seen any reports on anything you just stated.

People I've seen reported PQ issues watching 720p and 1080p.
Everyone exits a Guide, they are reporting a locked screen, and a required reboot.
What also some of you don't get is when you have a 4,5,6 room system it's alot different then you just rebooting your Single Hopper 3,and maybe a Joey.

Hmmm. I haven't seen much about the guide problem but I have seen the thread about PQ and that all seems to stem from an HDR problem with newer TVs. I don't know how many times people are having to reboot their receivers but I know I haven't rebooted mine yet. I also have a 4 room system and if I need to reboot it then I will, it's just TV and they can miss 5 minutes of their show.

I think your reading a different site or something... I have only see ONE person report PQ issues.

I haven't seen EVERYONE exiting a guide getting locked up and requiring a reboot. In fact I don't believe I have seen ONE report of that.

I think someones making a lot of noise for something he does not have just to make noise.

I feel the same about rebooting, it's just tv. I rebooted one time while the installer was here and 1 time after due to not getting the "pics" in the movie guide fast enough. I could have waited and they would have shown up anyway. No major issues, at all.

And 5 -10 minutes of your missed recording and timers.
No !
unacceptable most people would agree.
You can have 50 tuners, they are of no use if you have a conflict navigating in the menu or exiting the guide that requires a random reboot.

I think you are just looking at post counts and not the actual reported issues.

Not at all. I have barely posted on here in the last year until the Hopper 3 came out so I could not care less about post count, it doesn't do much for me. I've always posted on here to help. I don't like seeing rumors or people getting the wrong idea about things either.

I think it would be a shame for someone who really wants to upgrade to the Hopper 3 because they are scared of some of the problems they read about. So instead of me just saying that I don't think there are any major issues I thought it would be best to provide some proof. This poll should allow everyone to see if it truly is worth upgrading to now or waiting until things improve.

I'm not Talking about YOUR post count.

You said in your first post that people were looking at the post counts in the issues threads , Not the actual issues.

I'm done!

I think the problem is that you are posting your opinions on a product you do not yet have. I would take you more serious if you had the Hopper 3 and were stating examples that you have experienced. Like I said, I'm trying to provide accurate info to outsiders looking for information.

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood you.

You're right, I was talking about how some people said they saw how many pages the problem thread had so they are a little worried.
