When I bought my 7.5 foot mesh dish, the original Gardiner C band feedhorn was still on it. I removed it and attached a BSC-621 LNB (works great).
I put the Gardiner in storage and forgot about it until a few days ago. I took it apart to inspect the inside and to my surprise was relatively...
After many delays and setbacks I will finally purchase a STAB HH90 dish motor this week for my GeoSat Pro 90cm. I see a few on e-bay, however World Wide Satellites also have them. Any other sources out there?
This will introduce a second motor into my system.
Currently, the Amiko connects...
I am hooking up a stereo receiver in an old barn that has been used as a “party shed” in years past. It has not been used for several years and cleaning it up is a major task in itself.
The owner would like to use the old antique Acoustic Research speakers that are in there (see pics). These...
I’m setting up an OTA antenna for a neighbor.
HD bowtie antenna on the roof - almost all locals come in except for two channels.
HD bowtie antenna on ground floor - only the two channels I’m missing from roof come in.
Can I combine both antennas into one coax line? Sort of like using a...
Has anyone had any luck with a mini BUD getting any transponders on 103w SES3/AMC1, in particular DW on 3740 V 29270? It is DVB-S and I seem to remember reading that some people had better luck with DVB-S on a mini BUD.
I’ve been reading the specs on the Amiko mini HD SE from Titanium Satellite and Amiko Americas. I was wondering if this box can play Amazon Instant Video? I have an LG BluRay player that can stream Netflix and Vudu but not Amazon Instant Video.
Also, just curious if anybody has any experience...
Looking to buy a used / new 24 or 18 inch actuator arm motor. The motor and gear section seem to be working fine, but the arm component is not threading, it just slides.
Iran is not the place to live for the FTA hobbyist. Being an FTA dealer is a money maker though, as people simply go buy new equipment after confiscation.

According to Lyngsat, Rural TV resides at 103w on 3927 H 2450. I can receive ION and DW just fine and a few others but Rural TV is elusive. Just wondering if Rural TV is actually still around anywhere on 103w.
Thanks,
I am looking for a website that can safely and securely test my internet connection speed. I have visited a few in the past but they appear to be adware sites telling me I have to agree to install something before I can run a connection test.
Asteroid 2014 AA was not big enough to cause any significant damage, however it’s interesting that it wasn’t noticed until 21 hours before impact on January 2, 2014.

The following is a true story, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent:
WIFE: I couldn’t watch my show on Ion Life because of snow on the big dish, so I jiggled the dish until most of it came off.
HUSBAND: (Waking from nap) You did what?
WIFE: Yeah, the channel...
Can't seem to find which hemisphere this thing is going to re-enter. Hopefully not over a populated area.

I am starting to like the idea of "Slow TV". Similar to the Huntington Beach cameras, eScapes and Dog TV, now comes 100 hours of chess from Norway. I wish there was a way we could pull this in from North America...

The Man from UNCLE is to be released in 2014 with Hugh Grant. Not sure if I approve of Hugh, I would rather have seen George Clooney. The classic TV series (1964-1968) is also available on DVD at Amazon.

Last winter I had the 1.2m dish on the porch and was easy to clean the snow off. I have yet to experience winter with my 7.5 mesh, several feet away from the house mounted on a pole. I was thinking of using two or three battery warmer pads strategically placed on the backside of the dish. Any...
LES1 has been in orbit for 46 years. Although abandoned long ago, it still transmits at 237 MHz every four seconds as a result of its tumble. Nice project for amateur radios guys.

The Ku side of my BSC-621 combo LNB (7.5’ mesh) is not as strong as I would like. Is it possible to mount either a Ku SL1PLL or universal LNB near the focal point of the BSC-621 for better Ku reception? Any previous threads or pics where this has been addressed?
Thanks,
I knew at some point and time my time would arrive when I would have to perform the TTL serial connection. I unchecked a satellite from the satellite list and somehow went into boot loop.
I have a serial TTL cable connected to the PC with a backup UDF file ready to go, however the PC does not...
This satellite will have 10 beams at 1.2 Gbps per beam.
The approximate orbit for the O3B internet satellites will be about 5,000 miles. I am curious what type of fuel/thrusters can make this happen over a long period of time.

In reference to northgeorgia post (http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/312610-%28GEOSAT%29-microHD-Portable-power) about taking portable TV and receiver out to dish, I was doing that for a while but I got tired of dealing with plugs and cords.
I have two laptops with two different Skype...
