Has anyone successfully accessed Blockbuster On Demand content via the iPad app while traveling internationally? I ask because Netflix streaming is not available for US subscribers in most non-US countries, so I was wondering whether the same licensing limitations apply here.
Has anyone been able to add the Altitude Channel to their Dish Absolute HD package? When I called, they said that the Multi-Sport package (including Altitude) requires a Bronze level base package or higher (even though the Bronze package costs the same $34.99/mo). Are there any creative ways...
1. No regional sports networks (in Denver, I really miss Altitude for the Nuggets)
2. No CNN (HDNews sucks)
3. No Sirius a la carte (DishCD sucks)
Please provide this feedback to the Dish CEO/Executive offices at 866-443-5162. I was told by the executive staff that every call made this...
I currently have about 2 months remaining on a great Comcast HD deal, then I plan on jumping over to Dish. But I don't want to miss out on this promotion. Anybody know when it will end? CR did not seem to know...
I've been taking advantage of a sweet Comcast deal for the last year, but I'm contemplating a return to Dish (especially now that they have local HD in my market and a nice selection of other HD channels). How do I find the best deal on getting subscribed with an HD DVR?
I was watching the Nuggets game tonight and was annoyed by the announcer welcoming Comcast viewers watching Altitude's first HD broadcast! I thought Dish and Altitude had a special relationship? Comcast was a last second player in all of this and they have HD first? Anybody know what's going on...
I have a dual LNB Dish with one line feeding my family room and one going into my master bedroom. Both of the runs from the dish come into a central wiring hub in the basement where signals are then routed. I would like to watch Dish in another room but not pay for another receiver. It wouldn't...
I have AT100 w/locals. No Multi-Sports Pak. Sometimes I can watch NBATV games and sometimes I cannot. The games do show up on the guide all the time. Which also begs the question: can I watch the NBATV HD games if I have the HD pack?
I notice that they've got an HD Everest documentary (blind climber) and the NBA All-Star game...would love to see these in HD. Does Dish have any plans to add INHD?
I've only seen a couple of "events" actually occurring on this channel. Unfortunately, they were both NBA games (both including the Dallas Mavs) that were blocked out...I live in Denver. Why are these blocked out? Is this channel free? Am I missing out on other events? Where is a schedule?
Has anyone else been experiencing delays in response using an IR universal remote to control the 811? My universal does not have delays with any of my other components. I'm using a Radio Shack 15-2117, which, by the way, is the best deal out there for remotes right now ($29 for LCD, backlight...
If I have an HD subscription to Comcast cable, can I plug the feed into the 811 OTA module? Will the channels be integrated into the guide like with local OTA?
I have a Samsung HT-DB600 (HTIB w/built-in DVD player). I've tried all the Samsung codes but none of them work. Does anyone know if there are codes?
Also, I have a Terk remote extender (converts a standard IR remote to UHF). Does anyone know if the 811 remote could control this extender via...
Here's my setup:
Currently I have the 811 hooked up via DVI to my plasma in the living room. In the bedroom upstairs, I have a 508 hooked up to a CRT. I have RG-6 from the dish outside to the basement. From the basement, there is RG-6 that goes to each of the rooms (including the living room...
When receiving OTA, there is actual HD programming and just digital programming. On the 811, will I have to set to HD output to see HDTV and then SD to watch just plain DTV on the same channel?
I'm eagerly awaiting my 811 and a 42 inch Panasonic plasma. I'm curious if anyone has had experience with SD content via a DVI connection...What will be the best way to view SD--DVI, component, S-video, composite?
1. Has anyone found out whether a DVI cable will be included with 811s?
2. Is there a difference in PQ based on the "quality" (or, price) of a DVI cable? Isn't DVI a digital connection and therefore "on or off", unlike analog connections?
1. Will the 811 unit come with a DVI cable?
2. I know retailers are expected to have 811s available on 12/1. Does anyone know whether Dish Network will have them available then as well?
3. Any word on an incentive for existing customers?
