DIRECTV unlikely to keep NFL Sunday Ticket

I've had the ST Max for free the last several years. I watched the RZC 99.9% of the time and the ST was strictly for friends and family to watch their out of market teams. It is too bad they do not have an option for those people who only want to watch their out of market team play.

    directv 4k

I was able to get $45/12, free ST MAX, most of the premiums and sports pack free from 4-12 months along with the genie swap. Shockingly, none of that required any commitment as it normally did before. In time maybe they won't require a two year commitment for 4K but that's impossible to know...

    directv 4k

I need some advice on how I should proceed. I had a HR-34 since 2012 and recently requested to have my Genie exchanged without a commitment. I was told I'd receive either a HR-44 or HR-54. As I expected, I got the HR-44. Here is my dilemma, I have two 4K OLED tv's and would like to access the...

DirecTV offers to customers who complain about dropped Viacom channels

Did they make you extend your contract for getting ST Max and $10 off for 2 years?

DirecTV offers to customers who complain about dropped Viacom channels

I got Showtime free for six months and $5 off for three months. I then asked about a discount for the ST Maxx and was sent over to Retentions which gave it to me for half off. Can't complain since my contract ends in a few months and I didn't have to renew it.

Attention current NFL ST Subs! - Discounts.

I have been a subscriber for 10 months. The best I could get was $120 for the Sunday Ticket and no discount on the To Go. I called retentions a few times but everytime they had documented when I previously called and what was offered to me. They said I am already getting a lot of credits and...

Attention current NFL ST Subs! - Discounts.

I am a new customer (9 months) and called a few times to get a discount on the Sunday Ticket. Two weeks ago I called and was told there were no discounts. Read the forum and got to retentions last week. The best they could offer me was $120 without the To Go. Called back a few days later and...

Bad News About Big 10 Network!!

It's bad news for everybody. Rates will now skyrocket

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

First of all, it's completely disigenous for BTN to use the word "FREE" here. Nothing about this is "FREE".

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

I agree, and as for the Michigan-App State game. There have been a few UofM games that haven't been televised. If there was no BTN, that might not have been televised. It was a Div 1-AA team for crying out loud. Fortunately, it didn't matter to me. :):)I WAS ACTUALLY AT THE GAME!!!!!!!:):)

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

Clearly, that's not the case. BTN wouldn't allow it. No other league would allow it either. If sports were all forced on PPV, players salaries would be chopped in half.

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

Exactly, that's why this isn't a good thing. This was the firewall. This was the line that had to be held. Now the precedent has been set. That's what this was about, precedent. You should've thought of these things when you were demanding BTN. You were also demanding a 25 cents for the...

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

It's the difference between a $1-$2 rate hike and a $3-$4 rake hike, and plenty of people get their panties in a twist over that come Feb, not just me.

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

I'll bet you a couple of those drinks that the rate hike thread in February will be at least as long as this one. It always is, and it's always filled with the usual: "Charlie is a greedy pig!... This is the last straw!.....I'm leaving Dish and never coming back!......."

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

Here's the biggest lie ever "This added service will be available at NO ADDITIONAL COST to America’s Top 100 customers." Yeah, besides the inevitable $3-$4 rate hike in Feb, it won't be any additional cost.

    Dish Launches Big 10 Network

All I want to hear from all these BTN supporters is "Thankyou sir may I pay some more" when we get a $3-$4 rate hike Feb 1.

The only ones that count are the midwest The othere ones were getting it for 10 cents. Who cares about that.

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

Nobody watches all the channels. The fact is that the sports channels are BY FAR the most expensive in the basic packages. I'll give you the evidence: CHARLIE COMPLAINS ABOUT IT ON ALMOST EVERY CHARLIE CHAT.

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

That doesn't make any sense at all. Please explain how the Disney owned ESPN is supporting the Viacom owned MTV. There isn't some pool of money that all channels equally share. When Dish pays for MTV, they write a check to Viacom. When they pay for ESPN, they write a check to Disney(yes, I...

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

ESPN costs about 7-8 times as much as MTV, NICK, Lifetime... BTN wants to be the 2nd most expensive channel behind only ESPN(more than Fox Sports Detroit here). There is no comparison between you having to pay for Lifetime and some old lady having to pay for BTN, NONE.

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

Great, I hope you enjoy BTN for the 6-12 months it lasts. There is no chance it survives when only DTV customers are paying for it.

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

Sorry, but you are completely missing the mark here. It's people living in B10land like me who DON'T want BTN because we have to pay for it. People in SECland will only be charged 10 cents. I shouldn't really care about and SEC channel because it won't be me who is charged for it. However, I...
