    Seek & Record question

So I want to record an old movie (1990) when it comes into the guide (not pay-on-demand). From "search" I set up a seek & record timer for its name. It asks whether to record "new only" or "new and reruns". What would an old movie be, should I set up "new only"? Thanks

    Skip ahead 1 day

On my 622, in the guide, if I wanted to skip ahead 1 day, I just hit the "skip ahead" button. On the hopper, it goes ahead several hours. Is there a different button or option for this? Thanks, Jeff

PC related problems - started when hopper system was installed

Since the hopper system was installed last week, both my wife’s and my own PCs have had two strange problems. Unfortunately, we installed a new HP network printer at the same time, so that is making it harder to isolate the problem. I completely uninstalled the printer drivers, software, etc...

just what limit is there for timers?

I keep hearing that there are limited resources for timers. Just how many timers can you set up per hopper? I imagine this might be a complicated question, if there are many scenarios for the timers. Just looking for whether I will need to discourage the family from being indiscriminate with...

    learning the remote colored buttons

I am using a learning remote and trying to teach it the red-green-yellow-blue buttons from the hopper remote, but they are not taking. Are these UHF-only buttons?

trouble with punch-through programming of 40.0 remote

I have gotten a code to work for my audio receiver, it can power off/on, volume up/down, and mute in aux mode. I also have my TV code programmed in, and it works. I have been trying to program in the punch-through feature, where in the "SAT" mode you can have the volume and mute buttons on the...

    Can't find "resume" DVR function

Just got a 2 hopper / 1 joey system installed. Coming from a 622 system. First question: How do I pause a channel being actively recorded, switch to something else, and then switch back and resume where I left off? I only see choices to watch from the beginning or go live. Second, related...

increase font size for caller ID?

Just got my 2 hopper/1joey system installed yesterday, liking it so far. Any way to increase the system font size for the guide, etc for those with over-50 eyesight, especially for caller ID? I see a way to do it for CC, but haven't found a way otherwise, and I don't normally use CC. Thanks, Jeff

    Keep the DPP44?

Dish provided me a DPP44 for connection from my Dish1000 to 2 VIP622's and another receiver (I forget which one). I assume they will take the DPP44 back when they install my 2 hopper/ 1 joey setup this week. Is there a reason to argue to keep it?

    question about caller ID

Will a 2 hopper/1 joey setup only need 1 phone connection for caller ID on all TVs, or does each hopper and joey need to be connected locally to a phone line? Thanks, Jeff

    3 hoppers versus 2 hoppers/1 joey?

I have the installer coming this Friday. Have had Dish for 6 years. Ordered 2 hoppers and 1 joey, with each hopper initially $100, no initial charge for the joey. Since I am paying $7/month for the joey, and I think that an additional hopper instead of a joey would be the same monthly price, I...

    using VIP622 with hoppers?

I currently have 2 VIP622s, 1 that I own outright (the leased one I will be returning). I am getting an upgrade to a 2 hopper/1 joey setup. I also currently have a DISH1000 and a DPP44 switch. My interest is to still be able to use the owned 622 as an OTA receiver/DVR that I can keep connected...

    VIP622 newbie chase play question

Hi, I am a new Dish / 622 user. I have come across an irritating problem that I am pretty sure has a simple solution, I just can't find it. I record the NBC 11:00 evening news (runs to 11:30). I typically begin to watch it before it ends, say at 11:15. If I decide to watch the Tonight Show...
