we are planning on getting the full package of HD with having them install a dish on the house.

thing is we would like to reuse that contract with HD for a boat house which sits about 1mile from the house. the boat house already has a 5 lnb dish and we can purchase a receiver from best buy.

so could i do a multi room contract with directv having devices in seperate locations (albeit very close) and on seperate dishes. Is this possible/acceptable?

I am willing to pay for the multiroom and buy the receiver but I would like to know if there is any way to reuse the existing contract I have with directv

Can you receive cable at both locations for one contract? Why is this stupid question asked repeatedly?

wow.. ignorant and non informative in so little words..

apologies for the "stupid" question.. we were all dumb once when it came to this stuff..

never mind

Okay, here is the answer...

Can you do it? Yes.

Is it legal? Probably not - violates utility statutes in most areas..

Will it violate your TOS? Yes.

Will D* find out if you do? Unlikely.

Can you do it and just be quite? Sure (don't ask, don't tell) Hey it works for the Gov't.!

It violates your contract, but it is technically possible.

Just don't call a tech out to the other house, or to the main house when the one receiver isn't there!
