Just got my tickets for the Music City Bowl on Dec 30th with Ga Tech & Ole Miss. Gonna spend the weekend in Nashville. Drive up Saturday morning on the 28th and leave Monday morning on the 31st.

Really look forward to these bowl games. The lesser bowls may not captivate the nation but some of those games are fun to watch.

35 freaking bowl games? Why not have a 64 team tournament instead?

I said MANY years ago that there are WAY too many Bowls ....

I think they should be down to 20 at most and have stipulations to make a bowl, like being at least 2 games over .500 at minimum.

Bowls, even the most "minor" provide a reward for the players and the fans. don't like em, don't watch em.

It's a money grab plain and simple, nothing more nothing less.I have watched many of them in the past,it sucks when a big school goes to some bowl they want no part of,and don't even show up to play. How is that rewarding? Also, rewarding a team for being mediocre, see 6-6,proves the money grab.35 bowl games is waaaaay too many.

The majority of them LOSE money and it actually cost the schools ...
Yep, the only reason we have so many, is ESPN wants to fill it's television schedule during December. Back before ESPN became the monster that it is, we had maybe a dozen or so bowls, and they were almost all played between Christmas & New Years, with about 6 of them played on New Years Day.

Scott should consider sponsoring a satelliteguys.com bowl.I wonder how much ESPN would pay for it.:D

Actually, ESPN outright owns most of the "minor" bowls, and insures that teams make money on the deals. It is the middle level of bowls (say Alamo, Peach, etc) that can soak a team with a bad fan base.

Again, don't like em? Don't watch em.

I don't think that is the case, last year we heard many bowl games that teams lost money in, small and large.

Then again, it's what the school is willing to SAY they spent vs what they actually did.

All in all about 6 bowls that seem to really interest me. The rest I might catch if they just happen to be on when I am bored.

LOL. I have gone to a few. My old media friends still hook me up on occasions. I really thought this would be a very exciting game.

I think it will be a very good game, particularly with Ohio States porous Defensive backfield.

Should be a high scoring game, wonder what the o/u number is.
