2nd Home 2nd Dish Possible

Maybe dish should stop giving discounts to second receivers. Charge full price for each receiver that is active. Then there would be no questions.

They could make a quad tuner receiver to feed the while house four rooms.

I think that was there goal with the hopper, but again, why do they allow a 211 and tailgater? obviously they know you have receivers in two locations.

I think it comes down to politics. These big corps have some strange policies sometimes. The lawyers and bean counters come up with these crazy ideas that probably do not even have satellite tv.

I know if it were me, if I was going to my second home, I would take my receiver and go. Just not advertise it. As long as the receiver is paid for and no one is compromising signal security I don't see a problem. Especially if it is a temporary trip or vacation weekend.

If it is your only receiver, then there is no problem with that. If you have multiple receivers, take them all with you and you'd still have no problem.

:D WELL I AGREE................ when going to another location just grab one receiver and go, do not advertise it just go. if mama is watching TV at home and you are at the game tailgating and watching TV BIG DEAL. call it STACKING, STEALING , or anything you want, but it is done all the time and D* & E* know it.!! :happyd2::happyd2::happyd2: I do it all the time too!! ps, and i don't worry about it.!!!

I think it has a lot to do with how long you have a receiver active at a second location. If it's for a day or a week, no big deal. Where the stealing begins is when you have a receiver at two locations that are active for months and you have people at both locations.

Sirius xm which I subscribe to could care less if you add a radio to your account and let uncle bill use it in his car.

I get what you're saying but not a great example. Satellite radio has very little cost involved in it's customers. The customer pays for the equipment and installs it, all they need to do is pay the subscription.

With Dish, they give you equipment for free, they pay installers, they get much more money when it comes to programming and there are bigger issues with programming rights. Two very different animals we're talking about here.

Until the Dish audit team calls...but you don't have Dish.

When is the last time someone posted about being audited? I believe the audit team is defunct or barley doing anything these days.

I normally don't care 1 way or another what someone does & frankly is none of my business. However this 1 acquaintance I know this guy's wife just gets under my last nerve to no end. Her persistent bragging about sharing an account at 2 different places with 1 of her friends prompted me to report them twice. This was in the last 6 months, nothing ever happened........it's business as usual.

Like I say it's none of my business what someone does & have personally had receivers at 2 locations at the same time. These were both places I owned, resided in & was paying the bill, not splitting it with someone else. Right or wrong it worked for me at the time.

If someone wants to do this for their own use & not split the bill. They should adopt a don't ask, don't tell policy. :)

Please PM me. Thanks.

... Pm sent, maybe the 3rd try will be the charm. :D

^^ Remind me NEVER to piss this guy off! ^^

My question is will this work otherwise. I don't have a set schedule on my 2nd home and thus calling and calling back will become a real pain and if my wife decides she want to go home early and I want to stay one of us will be without service>>
Simultaneous service to two addresses on a single account is expressly forbidden.
And I have a 1000 dish with 3 lnb's is there a different lnb setup for the western arc??
The LNBs are different because the satellite spacing is different.

I see Stardust's position. The person he is referencing is account stacking. If I move a receiver between a house and a cabin, I don't see it that way. If I help my son wire up a dish at his apartment and give him a receiver that is on my account, then that is stacking.

right....lol...narc....who does that?

back in the piracy days a friend of mine was dimed out by the girlfriend. think he made her watch too much porn.

I do, only for people I really dislike. Thankfully they can be counted on a couple of fingers.
