Is there a STB that will receive Turbo signals when ITC? No computer things please, just receivers. Nothing bad here, just for when things may show up unexpectedly. :D

I'm sure the SonicView 8000 HD also had a turbo-8psk board . I know that the Coolsat 8000/8100 never had an option for that modulation. Some of the Dish Network stuff is still QPSK ( maybe mpeg4 compression) and most HD receivers can pick that up, if it's ITC.
:)

Thanks, guys! I've seen ITC QPSK recently but sometimes the turbo stuff goes ITC, and I'd like to be able to see those too. :)

If I were looking for such an stb, I think the SV-8000 would be the best, I'm leery of heat problems with the Pansat 9200. I suspect there are other boxes that could demodulate Turbo-8psk, probably most of the HD hacker boxes on ebay, but I suspect the Sonicview is the best quality. [edit] I notice an Sv-8000 on ebay , currently bid at $100 , with an 8psk board installed.
:)

euro you should be set with that one! I think that old buzzplus I have has that exact same chip listed on the specs, lol.

...from the eBay ad. Shouldn't it be MPEG-4 and not -2?
Yes, it should be Mpeg-4. Maybe the Sonicview doesn't support mpeg-4, I've never had one. It was such a popular hacker box, that you'd think it must be incorporated into the firmware. ???? [edit] I just googled on "sonicview sv-8000 and mpeg4" and some old threads had it definitely decoding Turbo 8psk mpeg4 . I suspect that the mpeg4 is a rom extension on board the 8psk expansion board.
:)

Cool. Sounds like I'll be adding one of these to the receiver collection very soon! (Right after the Azbox) :)

Might have to try and resurrect my retired SV-8000. It took a lightning hit and has a few swelled components in the PS area. Hope that is all that is wrong with it...
