All This From Relocating Receiver??

Moved DirecTV receiver to a different room this week. Now noticing a strange happening...even though my TV takes IR input for On/Off function, the thing is turning on when I turn the satellite on (even when out of IR range). The receiver is set up for RF input from the remote. How can the darned receiver turn the TV on?! I have checked every setting I can find on the receiver and on the TV. Help anyone??

Have you checked HDMI control under display settings/video, if on turn it off.

Just a hunch ...

But check to see if "HDMI control" is turned on under the "Display Settings" menu.

If so try turning it off ...

I'm sure that's what it is. It might be called CEC control instead of HDMI.
