AM21 and Genie

I want to have the 4K installation and I spoke to Directv 3 times and each time received a different answer. Can I still use my AM21 with a new Genie?

I'm using the AM21 with the HR54. You have to get a power cord for the AM21, as it can't piggyback on the DVR power with the HR54.

i've seen it work, but i think it was casuing issues with the genie, so if you HAVE one already, try firing it up. if not i'd say its a gamble.

and D* no longer supports it, so if you DO have issues your SOL.

It works fine unless you are in a couple of areas where one station seems to cause problems. OK here in DFW.
