The fact of the matter was that the OTA tuner was not used 99% of the time for new installs on Dish and Directv installs.
It was easier to remove it to save space and money for new boxes and sell a separate stand alone unit.

Whatever "business" one is in, the customer is always right.
Does the customer know the inside technobabble? No. That is what techdrones are for. That has nothing to do with the fundamental basic truth of capitalism that in every instance what the customer wants is what he should get. In every case, without exception. Because he is always right.
