I'm a sport loop fan also. I find it strange that now they don't even offer the sport loop in black or gray. The burgundy is very nice, but like the other colors they offer, it doesn't go with just anything. They do offer a black in the Nike version but, but, but................. it's Nike.
Before I get yelled at by the Nike crowd, I just don't like advertising for any group or company. I've got half a dozen high dollar Harley Davidson t-shirts in my storage closet that still have the tags on them. They were gifts from dealerships where I did business over the years.
I have upgraded a few times over the years so I have a handful of Sport Loop bands, including black and gray. I change colors every couple weeks.
I got the Series 12, 46mm Space Gray Aluminum with Olive Sports loop band. I pick it up at 2 pm on Friday.
Not getting the money up front would probably kill other companies that aren't hiding a mountain of cash overseas to avoid US income tax.
It is bad enough when the typical wireless bill is upwards of $100, but if the Social Security COLA is only 2.5% when things are costing >4% more, something's gotta give.

Apple released OS Versions 27 today. Who will be brave?
I'm updating my Apple TV 4K w/Ethernet to tvOS 27.0 right now. Leaving my iPhone 17 at iOS 26.6.2 for the moment, and will probably update the MacBook Air to macOS 27.0 tomorrow.

Done. Only difference I've noticed so far is it's more difficult to disable Apple Intelligence.
I know people paying $500/mo for family plans, including multiple phone payments and insurance, etc. That's a personal choice. I have a phone I paid cash for, a $10/month 2GB US Mobile plan on Verizon's network, and a $10/month TMO Business unlimited data-only plan.
Total monthly spend: $20 + tax for plans and $11.99/month for insurance.
I'm an accountant. I'd love to hear how this can be done without violating US and EU etc law.
Updated my Apple TV 4K, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. Will take me a few days to see how it is going.
We updated all of our Apple devices that could get the latest OS27 updates yesterday and so far everything is working as before. My iPhone 17 Pro Max seems snappier than before, but I see in settings that it's still optimizing search and Siri, and I don't see the Siri AI app anywhere on any of my Apple silicon devices yet. I also activated the AppleCare One Family plan this morning which would save us about $3 a month over the individual plans we were paying on our 4 iPhones and I was pleasantly surprised to see Apple added eligible devices that did not have AppleCare on them before, so now my Watch Ultra 1 (for now), my Mac, my daughter's iPad, and both of the kids MacBooks are now covered.
No, they're now located in Settings - Screen Time - Content & Policy Restrictions - Siri, then scroll down and block all the AI options you don't want.

Nice Easter egg
Got UPS tracking number for iphone 18PM to arrive tomorrow. It was shipped on Monday. I expect it to be a day late, because lately companies using free shipping use the lowest, slowest priority. FedEx normally blames it on the weather. FedEX has been the slowest lately. Anyway, the switch over adventure begins.

Watched Marques Brownlee's take on the 18 Pro / Pro Max and it seems that the improvements are significant. Maybe not worth it if you had a 17 Pro, but the RAM situation has skewed the equation more towards keeping what you have given the added increase in price.
I could probably find a way to justify the Pro based on my photography hobby, but I was happy with my APS-C mirrorless Canon years back, so the cameras in my iPhone 17 are just fine.
I'm looking forward to read about your experiences with your new iPhone 18 Pro Max.
