I'm getting a new phone, but I haven't decided on the size yet. Larger screen, OIS, and longer battery life are appealing. But 5.5 is insanely big. It's too bad they didn't release a 5 inch model.

I'm not sold on the watch yet. I like the round design of the Moto 360 better, although I do like the hot swappable bands system that Apple has. It's too bad these manufacturers are not making these devices is agnostic. Biggest questions for me are: battery life and water resistance.

I'm sure 2nd gen will be much better in every way imaginable. But do I really want to buy a Pebble Steel instead of this when this will do so much more? Decisions decisions... Good thing this doesn't come out for a while. Plenty of time to think it over. I am certain that receiving notifications on my wrist would be immensely handy.

I am bummed that the optical image stabilization is only on the Plus. I have zero interest in a phablet. Still, the camera on the 6 looks very enticing, regardless.

My trusty-$30 Timex will continue to work, and when I forget it, my iPhone always tells me the time and where I need to be. :)

This is one of many unanswered questions about the Apple Watch. One speculation is that the watch may use other biometric information to identify the person, since it has sensors on the back...
According to Rene Ritchie at iMore, you authenticate the AppleWatch using a PIN and as long as the AppleWatch is on your wrist, you don't need to re-authenicate. It uses the sensors to "know" it's attached to the owner. I'm also willing to bet that if you lose your pulse, it will deauthenicate to prevent the Black Hats from hacking your arm off above the wrist and going on a spending spree...

It's also been reported that those of the sinister persuasion can use the AppleWatch by flipping the digital crown over to the other side and wearing it on your dexterous wrist. In that case, the Contact button is above the crown.

Nice post, but I'm not sure I understood the last part.

Three color options, gold, space gray, silver on the back. What color options are on the front? From what I see the only one that has a black front is the space gray?????

Yes, that was my take, but it seemed to leave room for doubt.

Apple should CERTAINLY allow for screen flipping for those who prefer to wear their watch on the right hand. I've known right handed people who preferred that.

I haven't worn a watch in a couple of years. Take a LOT for me to reconsider.

That's my understanding. Silver and Gold models both have white face plates.

I like that Apple offers leather cases. I am certainly getting one of those!

So at what time do they start taking orders? I am guessing 3 AM Eastern. Correct?

Be warned about Apple's leather cases. They scuff terribly, and the Red one is an incredible dirt magnet. I was profoundly disappointed by mine on the 5S. I dumped it after a couple months. Grimy, dirty, un-Apple-like. And the Apple Store didn't care.

Yep.. I finally found the color options. Where did you see the cases. Id like to check those out.

In the Apple store under accessories: http://store.apple.com/us/accessories/all-accessories/cases#!&f=iphone6&fh=409a+43ba

Hmm... that's disappointing!

I did a quick search on the Internet regarding those leather cases for 5s and it looks like the wear is least noticeable on black cases. So, I guess I will just go with the black one to be safe.
Also, I am hoping that the rounded corners of the iPhone 6 (compared to 5s), will minimize the problem.

I hear AT&T (like other providers) is offering $300 trade-in rebate against an iPhone 5s ($200 against iPhone 4 and above) when upgrading to iPhone 6. Does anyone know how exactly that works? Do I need to do anything in advance, before placing my order tonight? Or is this something that can be done later?

I'm not quite eligible for an upgrade yet, and frankly am quite happy with my 5. But if I got a $200 credit to upgrade to a larger screen- well, it might be hard to walk away from that.

Is this trade in (verizon is doing it as well) I wonder for only accounts out of contract? I would assume that is the case, but have not seen it mentioned.

Not sure about Verizon. I think it's only $200, but for any trade-in, including 4 or later.

I saw this but then saw it is only for a new 2 year contract.
