Frontier is almost dead. That opens up another issue. Who buys what Frontier ruined.
They are slowly replacing copper failures with fiber...slowly migrating voice switches to voip

It seems that the only people who still use a landline are older people and businesses. Everyone else moved to cell phones.
Copper landlines are powered by the phone company...no electricty needed...thats why they stoll exist

Keep in mind, unless they are able to move it entirely to fiber, that landline is on the Copper feeding the U Verse internet still.
Wat down...landline has reverse 911 trace....cant do that with a cell phone..younger people dont want them
