How long can my coax be on a non-swm slimline 5 running RG-11? Dish will be on the roof with non-penetrating mount. Coax will run down the mechanical room communication conduits to the second floor. We are Looking at maybe 250'.
Is that do able with RG-11?

It may be even doable with RG six. I've heard folks doing runs that long trenched from dish to house and working fine. Some installers may have better input though on the ceiling of length of run. Good luck.

150' is the 'magic' number for RG6. It can be pushed to 200 with little issues. 250' feet might work, but you will likely have intermittent issues such as signal loss with HD. If you can go with RG-11, def. go with that.

You will probably have to cut a couple RG6 jumpers at the dish I would guess you will never get the 11 up the feed arm.

Rule of thumb is as said is 150 feet.

BTW, they do sell amplifiers.
Not sure how well they work, but I am sure cheaper and easier then running RG11
