A picture is worth 1000 words. Please post a picture of your dish pointed to where you think 97W is. Here is my dish. 97 is a strong bird. Don't work about skew. +/- 20% will get you a signal.

As per the LNB in your snap. If you are standing behind the white portion of the LNB is it turned clockwise or counterclockwise? If I look closely at your image it appears counterclockwise.

I repeat:
"Are you east of 97W, or west of 97W?"
You haven't answered that, yet.

I just looked at the pictures in your post #4; would they be for your location?

They give nonsense information: azimuth is given as 212.8 degrees, but as direction south-east is indicated.
But 212.8 degrees would be south-west!
If the skew picture is also for your location (I didn't realize that, earlier), it is indeed also not right.

Use www.dishpointer.com, that is OK, for most things.
(Everybody can make apps, and use a name that is almost identical to a reputable site......)

Did you not read my very first post as per Dishpointer?

Oh yes I did.
You wrote about Dish Pointer app, and Dishpointer app (they might be quite different apps, I don't know); but not about www.dishpointer.com.
And you never wrote anything about your latitude and longitude.

Apart from that, you "ensured" your dish aiming angles, but did not share the results; so that we cannot check that those were in fact correct.
Nevertheless, with those "ensured angles" you seem to not get any reception!
And you still don't want to 'reveal' if you are east or west of 97W?
And not post any pictures of your dish setup, even when several members did ask for that already?

Yesterday, I got 3 new pallets. One Pallet was intended to mount the Dish on and the other two were dismantled completely for parts. The cross beams from one pallet fit perfectly into the new one. I only needed to hammer them in place with a rubber mallet and I was good to go. They were secured in place with nails. (See pic #2). This improved the strength of the pallet as the planks did not stress under pressure any longer. As you can see toward the rear of the pallet there is an area of the pallet allowing a fork operator to lift the pallet. I took advantage of this area by placing cinder blocks into it so that this would weight the pallet down. 1 block weights about 13 kilos.

In image #3, I salvaged some blocks from another pallet and strategically placed them inside the pallet so that when I fastened everything down there would be more meat for the screws to dig into.

Picture #1 shows the finished setup. The satellite dish is strongly fastened down onto the pallet and the added weight ensures it stays fixed in place.

I spent a few hours searching for Galaxy 19 to no avail. Then I decided to Change the skew in the opposite direction and BINGO! Dish pointer needs to use clear language for this setting as their illustrations tell otherwise. Not good for an app you pay for!

The Setup I have is only temporary. The first thing I wanted to learn was whether or not it was possible to get FTA from my location and now I know 100% it is. I also need to determine the best place for a permanent install as I would like to pan for other Satellites as well.

A blind scan of Galaxy 19 yielded only 100 television channels and many radio stations. I was under the impression there were more television channels. Does anyone have more?

Good to hear you got some channels scanned in. Are they definitely the ones that are supposed to be on 97w? Maybe list a few so we can make sure if you aren't already. As I said in one of my previous posts - from behind, from in front, clockwise, counter-clockwise, left, right - too many ways of describing the same thing can be confusing for someone new.

Anyways, you got there and that's what's important. Congrats! :)

Great minds think alike. I enjoy pallets so much I couldn't give them up. Note my fine tuning system of shims under the pallet.
Dish Family Rear

ADDED: I used a spade to lift an edge of the pallet to insert the fine tuning slats of wood. It was elegant. All were mounted in the middle of my driveway. I dismantled all in a few hours when I sold my place.

100 is the correct number of television channels on 97W. They have been steadily decreasing over the past months/years.
EDIT: Just checked my notes, and there were 111 television channels at the beginning of August 2022.

Why on earth did you do that? :shh;):shh

There are also satellite aiming apps free of cost, I believe. So that you would have some money left to donate to satelliteguys! :)

I've never used such apps, however. Satellite beeper and inclinometer (app), that is what I use.
And of course, www.dishpointer.com, for the aiming map, and the calculations.
(Though for the calculations I also have my own spreadsheet calculator.)

I like that image. Where did you find it and how can I get one that shows only the satellites?

It's an astronomy program I use called Stellarium. It took a bit of configuring to show the Clarke Belt sats and the arc they are in. Haha, I wasn't even sure I could do it. Then dropped the screen shot into Corel for the rest of the crap. That was the easy part!

Hire an installer. You have no idea what you are doing and at this rate it will be in 2025 when you get a signal. There is nothing wrong with having to hire an installer to get it done right. Get rid of the wood pallets, they are for material goods and not mounts for satellite dishes!.
