CBS moving to new stations in 6 markets on August 1

I haven't done a re-scan in a while. August 1st it is.
Some TV's will automatically bring it in when you select 7.1 within a few seconds
I know my TV does that. I select 12.1 and any new station that is on 12 will automatically pop in (or be removed if that is the case)

My TV is super old so I doubt it. I'll try that first though.

This kind of thing is a nightmare for anyone who uses a device such as Tivo, Tablo or the DISH OTA adapter to record from the antenna. The guide built into my Sony still does not know where the local FOX affiliate and their sub-channels went due to the shuffle to accommodate ATSC 3.0.
It may even take a while to get straightened out for satellite supplied locals. This seems to be one area that is better handled by a local cable company as they have personnel actually on site.

That explains why WYFF moved their tower a year or two ago. Upstate SC had a hard time receiving their signal even though they are our local. If they did not that would make two networks very hard to pick up. I will rescan on the Zapper box Aug 1 and report any changes to the Greenville market.

Greenville SC: CBS is moving to a subchannel of Hearst's WYFF, WSPA/7 is switching to CW (CW is currently on Nexstar's WYCW/62)

This was reported by "TheDesk.net", but it has not been confirmed that WSPA/7 is switching CW programming to their signal.

A Nexstar spokesperson said that the multi-year agreement with CBS to extend its affiliations in 36 markets was reached this month.

The spokesperson said, "We will be replacing the CBS affiliation with a CW affiliation in at least three markets (Jackson, MS, Bismarck, ND and Rapid City, SD) and promoting FOX to replace CBS as our primary network in Albuquerque, NM. We will be elevating the CW affiliations from the digital subchannels they currently occupy to a premiere slot widely available over-the-air and across all major paid platforms. In addition, we look forward to expanding our local news in Greenville/Spartanburg, Birmingham, and several of these markets with the new scheduling flexibility these transitions will afford."

This implies WSPA is going Independent. If that is the case they very well may lose some carriage completely. YTTV for example doesn't usually carry Independent stations. They dropped WCCB in Charlotte for example when they went Independent.

Just did a rescan with my Zapperbox. Getting four 4.1's all with the same programming. I erased all chanells and still get the same result. All the ATSC are showing different formats, well pairs actually. They are showing to differnt things in the info. Two are showing HDR10 and two are showing AHDR. power is up also on that frequency. Still just using a VHF high antenna even though all are UHF. Getting to be a old man with problems, would be more than willing to pay someone in Upstate SC, to give me a hand raising my two Telves antennas.

Sounds like you're getting the ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 feeds and some of their translators most likely. The new 4.3 isn't active yet to my knowledge. That likely will happen closer to August 1

Nope cleared it out again and rescanned same results. I am on the 4.1 third and has been dark with a 88% signal, channel Now nija warriors is showing up. Now dark again with 88% percent signal. They are testing. Now just popped inn with a commercial identifying as WSPA.

I'll check it out tomorrow on my end too. I'm in the same boat you are- my antenna setup has had issues since Helene. I'd love to do what you describe- put up two antennas pointed at Charlotte & GSP and mesh them together with a Televes Avant or Smartkom to get all the channels but don't like heights myself.

I have all the equipment including the smartkom. just need a hand getting it up. Have a 27 telescoping pole, have the guy wires and rings. Just 48 tears as a Automotive Tech, my body is broken. Still working until you see a chalk line in a bay of me holding a wrench!

I can still give some muscle but need a second hand . One thing I have found is if I help you with your car, the favor is never returned. Not aimed a anyone here, just the way people treat others these days.

KOAT is now running a test feed on 7.9 (with an ID of "7.4 TEST")

VBR. I've seen it peak as high as 10mbps.

Current programming is a duplicate of the main ABC .1 feed.

For me the big televes points north and the UHF only poitns south to the lighthouse tower in Simpsonville. I am using a High VHF antenna pointed north now and can still get them. I have the antennas, just need help getting them up.
