Personally, if you can swing it and you already pay for the DVR function, theres NO reason to NOT get a DVR along with your next recvr in my opinion, your already paying for the DVR functions, you can never have too many recording devices available ....

Would the HR24 recordings also be available on the HR34 and/or any of the other receivers with whole home? Also, would they still need 2 lines run? (My HR2x have two lines but the install is 5 years old)

no. The HR34 is SWM only so if you already had one the add'l receivers would be SWM too

Hmm. Thanks! I have two HR21/100 -- one is used all the time the other not so much. How much more is the HR34 going to hold? May keep the HR21's but they can be frustratingly slow sometimes.

Yup, part of it is they are right down the road, in Detroit area ...
