:welcome to Satelliteguys!

You need a Slimline dish, lnb to match what you have at home, and a power inserter. You also need patience as you learn to set up and align the dish!

Thank you for the response. If I am just bringing one receiver back and forth, will I need the swm setup or any multi switches, or can I just run the lines right to the receiver.

HR24 to power inserter to lnb, no switch is necessary. The reason to have the same lnb is because it makes swapping the HR24 easier. Going from a non swm to swm setup can "confuse" the dvr, best to have the same in each place.

agreed. but my current setup does have a swm setup, does that change things?
You have a swm setup because the Genie requires it. That's why I said you should get the same lnb as what you have at your house. So yes, you do need a swm lnb.

You could use a Legacy LNB, but SWM will be much easier as you change locations

I have identical dish and setup at cabin. Have setup new dish according to elevation and alignment. Connect everything but only get zeros for signal. Have been adjusting alignment for 4-5 hours with no success any suggestions?

This IS a SWM set up ?
If so, do you have a Power Inserted in line ?

What's the zip code? Are you using the magnetic north number for the azimuth?

Here is a diagram of my camping system. I take the HR-44 receiver with me.
