Greetings folks, SatelliteGuys is excited to be able to bring you details of the launch of DIRECTV Now from the ninth floor of Venue 57 on West 57th Street in New York City!

At 4 PM there will be a press conference and at 5 PM DIRECTV NOW will be offering product demos.

It is expected DIRECTV NOW will debut with over 100 channels for only $35 a month!

If DirecTV does this right (content, reliability, cloud DVR, multiple streams / out of home streams, and price) they can really dominate in this space. The question will be if they are concerned with profits in the beginning or concerned about building a base.

Sling has limited content and the way they handled ESPN with a package that excludes it but includes RSNs is a sign they haven't figured it out yet on the programming / contract end.
Playstation is doing better on the programming / packages end, but is already struggling with disputes (Viacom).

It's a wide open market that can be big for the first company to get it right.

John is thanking everyone for their hard work for making this happen. he said they have done a lot in a short time.

He says DIRECTV Now is the foundation and is how things will be done now. He says it is better than the launch of UVERSE, he says that AT&T has full control over everything including the software.

John say that since AT&T took over DIRECTV they have brought you 4K and a new TV Everywhere experience. Data Free DIRECTV over the AT&T Network.

He says the industry has changed there are 20 million households with no pay tv system.

Video is growing in the mobile environment. People want their programming everywhere.

AT&T can marry video with their wireless network.

He said this is a gen 1 product and there will be more coming to make it better and add more to it!
