DISH NETWORK INTRODUCES 13 NEW HD CHANNELS IN PUERTO RICO

Launches HD Free For Life Promotion

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., June 7, 2010 – DISH Network L.L.C., America’s fastest-growing pay-TV provider, today announced an expansion of high definition services in Puerto Rico with the introduction of 13 new HD channels*, plus new PPV and VOD HD channels. DISH Network now broadcasts more than 75 HD channels in Puerto Rico – the most offered by any pay-TV provider on the island.

DISH Network customers in Puerto Rico can now add their core HD channels for free via DISH Network’s newly-introduced HD Free For Life promotion. Both new and existing customers are eligible for the promotion, which includes any HD feeds of the standard definition channels available in a customer’s main programming package.

Thanks Scott! I got my new HD since June 3! Speed, NFL, and BBCA

If you got he old HD Pack you have to cancel that package and get the new one available for the package that you have!

I am a grandfather customer and to get the new ones you have to call and cancel the old HD package you have to get the new ones. And you will loose a couple of channels depends on what package you have

THEY SAID THAT THEY ADDED 13 NEW HD CHANNELS BUT THAT'S A LIE BECAUSE THEY ALREADY ELIMINATED THE GREEN CHANNEL HD, CI HD, STARZ WEST HD, STARZ EDGE HD, ENCORE EAST HD, TMC EAST HD IN PUERTO RICO, SO THIS MEANS THAT THE ONLY ONES THA GOT SCREWED WITH THIS ECHOSTAR 14 TRANSITION WERE THE PUERTO RICO CUSTOMERS..

I HAVE THE NEW 13 HD CHANNELS. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT 4 DAYS AGO BUT AT FIRST THEY DIDN'T KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT BUT I PERSISTED AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON TALKED TO A SUPERVISOR AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. HE TOLD ME THAT STARTING MY PACKAGE IS AMERICA'S EVERYTHING PACK PLUS 250 HD. I HAVE 110 AND 119.

I CALLED DISH NETWORK TECHNICAL ADVANCED AND THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING TOO. THEY EVEN SAID THAT ALL HD CHANNELS THAT PUERTO RICO SHOULD RECEIVE ARE IN 61.5 BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT ANY HD CHANNELS IN 110 AND 119. THEY ARE CRAZY. I called technical support regarding channels 327, 340, 351 and 352, the missing HD channels on 110. The woman I talk to says that they don't know why I don' t see those channels in the guide. They made me do a lot of tests but nothing work. She says that no enough people has reported the problem so that's why they are not working on that. I told that not everybody has a VIP receiver and HD, so they should not wait to solved the problem, that early adopters should not have to suffer waiting for mass complaints. She rephrased her words and told me that a lot of people in PR has Vip receivers and she will report the problem and I had to wait at least 3 days for an answer. I have to wait then, if somebody get around this problem please post them.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I CALLED THEM. TODAY WAS MY FIFTH CALL AND THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. THEY ALSO SUGGESTED TO ME TO BUY A NEW DISH TO RECEIVE THE 61.5 SATELLITE WERE MOST OF THE HD ARE.

What's the use of buying a new dish if they can block the HD channels without warning and reasoning. IF we have access to 110 is not logical to block those channels to PR customers and that's exactly what they did. The person behind it is a complete moron. I bought my 722k and sub every movie channels paks and still can't receive those channels, someone screw me and nobody can help. I always been a Dish supporter but this is the end of that.

So, I got off $9.99 of my account but did not recive BBCA HD nor E! HD and like everyone else has reported I am without channels 327,340,351 and 352. Anyone has all of these channels working at the same time? Please report back I have a guy at the engineering department working on my account today and he will call me back. I tried again today in order to get 4936-4963 channel range but this time I had to tell the CSR to remove the old HD PAK because he/she doesnt understand my tale haha. So after he/she remove the HD PAK and add the HD Addon suddenly the channels 4936-4963 range appears on guide. But unfortunately the channels coming from 61.5 in the 94xx range are all in red and says that those channels are not purchased. Dont understand since I am subscribed to American TOP 200. So some HD channels are not receiving now because are not in the 49xx range. I tried two times to get the 61.5 channels back but no luck. Last CSR told me that i need to look for help from a technician on local retailers so I desist to continue trying. I told her that the problem is with the accounts, there should be a flag or something in the accounts from PR but she says that is not possible.

Also, before the change I was subscribed to the HD Platinum and now they says that this package is not available to PR. So i have a 6 footer antenna for nothing now. I am wondering for what reason Palladia channel was added on channel 4960 in a spotbeam to PR if it is only available thru HD Platinum and is not allow to be added on PR accounts.

So now i think that the better was not to change my programming and lose my preferred channels coming from the Platinum package. And even ask about HD FREE FOR LIFE, i tried several times online but without success. I ask the CSR if I can add that by chat or calling, but they says try again later online. What a MESS!

This exactly what I want to avoid. What has happen to you is what I expected was going to happen if you messed with the Conus HD's and Platinum. Now you have to keep trying with the advance tech department until you find someone helpful that adds both packages at the same time for your account. Keep trying until someone helps you, that's the only way you are going to get them back. The other thing is that we may eventually by August or September get the same service from the new sat destined for 61.5 spot. But as always their is nothing clear about that happening either. And as always we in PR are left on the dark. And the thing is that not only customers are left stranded without information but also the local dealers and installers are left on the same spot. No one knows nothing. But then again that's life here in the Island of Enchantment. Hope you can resolve your issue and have back your channels; that by the way, your paying it's not for free we should not be begging for this.

After august with a 24' dish you will rec the HD on 61.5 after Echostar 15 the new 61.5 that Dish will launch on July

After they put that new bird on we will get the same treatment that 61.5 new bird is a conus bird will have a strong coverage for PR with a 24" inch dish Dish needs to put that bird quickly. Cross our fingers so when they launch it on July they will be no problems.

OK People.

I have final notification from someone high up in the engineering department. And the news is bad and good at the same time. The way that they setup the software to work after Echostar 14 was put to work is that if you have channels being recived from 61.5 once you take out the old HD PR Pak from your account the new software kicks in and it selects 61.5, if you have it, and denies or rejects channels coming from the spot beams for PR from both sats 110 and 119. The point is that they made it out to work with one or the other and their is nothing they can do about it. They did this because they notice a lot of accounts in PR with the 61.5 setup plus at the same time recieving the same HD channels from the spotbeams on 110. So now Dish, if you call them, will setup whatever programming you want to put on the account but it has to be one or the other. They are not going to put both setups in the same account. If you have an antenna pointed at 61.5 then they will activate that sat and if you dont have it the box automatically via the software will look for the channels on sats 110 and 119. This has been done for the upcoming changes that are going to be put in place for Echostar 15. This is how they are going to deal with new accounts that have a wing dish pointed at 61.5, by giving all the Conus programming to those accounts and the ones that select not to install the wing dish will still recieve some HD channels through 110 and 119. All the software has been put in place for this to be done automatically by the reciever. The reciever is reading a code on the account and selecting the HD channels automaticaly from the antennas you have installed giving preference to sat 61.5, if it finds it and then if not defaulting to the spotbeams on the other two sats. So if you have the old PR HD PAK and also have 61.5 working don't mess with it untill Echostar 15 is up and running. We will get all the HD programming eventually form echostar 15 with a wing dish. The person did not want to give me an exact date, all she was willing to say is that is was going to be soon. She also commented that they are reciving a lot of request from people in PR with the same issue and they will address the situation as soon as they find space on the sats because they are getting a lot of new subsribers form PR.
