DirecTV customer here!

Always wanting to check on the competition, I must ask…

How many pages in the brochure were required in explaining the program packages by Dish Network?

I have never seen such a mess in my life with pay TV.

Can I just drop Platnum today or do I need to drop all HD and then get it added back tomorrow?

That is basically all we need to know.

I can't see them offering a $10.00 discount to only new subs and those who don't have hd yet, but screw over all their existing sub base by continuing to charge for plat pack that no longer exist after tomorrow. Come on even DISH can't be this stupid?

The did only offer TurboHD packs to new customers for a good 6 months before they let existing customers switch to it ...

Well, what I'm thinking is that they have many people on auto pay now that they are hoping that there are enough people who don't pay that much attention to the little details of their bill and it will slip by them. Dish will eventually have a small notice inside the bill and say that they did notify thier customers, so if you didn't pay attention, then your screwed. It's like when a newspaper makes a mistake and they print a retraction but it is buried deep inside the paper where nobody really sees it.

So worse case, drop Gold+Plat HD, $5 downgrade fee, and sign back up tomorrow. Worse I would be out is the $5 and a few hours of HD. Potentially save $5 first month though, and $10 after? Guess I'll wait til closer to midnight until I pull the trigger on this one.
There's a very easy and scientific way to answer this question..........

Okay, there is no more platinum pack after tomorrow , but there will be an HD + Platinum pack for $10.00 starting tomorrow. So if you call tomorrow and say you want the HD+platinum pack for 10.00 you should be able to get that pack ,as it would be an easy switch from HD to HD +Plat. IF not DISH has lost their last marble . I can't see them offering a $10.00 discount to only new subs and those who don't have hd yet, but screw over all their existing sub base by continuing to charge for plat pack that no longer exist after tomorrow. Come on even DISH can't be this stupid?

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. I have HD+Plat and as of tomorrow, Platpak no longer exists, right? But they're still going to charge me $10/month for it even though the package no longer exists, while new subs and those who add HD get the non-existent package for no additional fee?

Do I have this absurdity nailed down now?

I'll look into it Tomorrow, But Account Specialist claims the platinum package goes live for HD customers on August 5th. Not sure if thats true , again it is a E* employee that might not know anything, But that would make more sence then a Saturday. Whats Funny is the 5th is when WFN HD free preview is over. So something tells me not to expect much tomorrow, and the 5th seems more likly.

Since I'm not a Dish Bitcher and Moaner, I'm just going to go to bed and get platinum tomorrow OR on the 5th. Works for me. Good Night Everybody!!(Though I'm sure there are a dozen or so who won't sleep at all tonight).:rolleyes::rolleyes:
