The "new update" was when they removed the simple & clear SD/HD designation from the ch/network boxes on the left side

Haven't even got the new guide yet.

But my understanding is the goal is to make it look like dish anywhere.

i havent gotton the gudie update yet My H3 just updated to H393 yesterday.
