I think the general idea was to get an informal measure of how many of us get OTA guide data despite the absence of those channels from satellite. Backing that info out of James Long's chart is difficult at best. For example, I'm in the Washington DC DMA. Our Ion affiliate (WPXW) shows on the sat portion of the chart as 66-0, and that's all, because we get zero subchannels via sat. Looking down in the guide portion, there is WPXW as 66-1, but nothing is there about 66-2 or 66-3. So, a human brain has to know that 66-1 and 66-2 exist, before we can tell from that chart that we're missing anything.

In Charlotte, most of the OTA subchannels I receive have guide data.

Yea they do a pretty good job with Charlotte. The big exception is WUNE Linville Pbs.It used to have guide data last year but no longer does.Dish does carry WUNE as channel 4 so no idea why there is no longer guide data.WHKY Hickory has 3 sub channels which Dish doesn't carry and there isn't any guide for them either.

I am in the majority of subs who do get guide info for the sub channels.

9 - Local DMA SAT Channels - All major networks' sub channels picked up via OTA has guide info. Have OTA duplicates for (ABC/CBS/Fox/NBC). Comes in handy when wife's shows are pre-empted on one channel for sports and do not come on until 2AM - 5AM. :D

42 - OTA stations (Outdoor Rotating Ant.) - also pick up Greenville, NC locals via antenna and most of those show guide data as well even though I am "out" of that market area. The antenna is pointed in "opposite" directions to switch to "down east" locals vs. Raleigh locals.

15 - OTA with no guide data - mostly locally broadcast stations (Selma/Goldsboro)

I can pick three total PBS (4/25/36 via OTA), but one PBS station is like all the others. And channel 40 is in the Raleigh DMA, but I do not speak the language, so i is not represented here.

I have 31 Channels OTA. Of those channels, 17 have guide data and 14 do not. Only the Big 4 are available via satellite and they all have guide data on the OTA version, so out of the 27 that are not also satellite, 13 have guide data and 14 do not, so about half and half.

I've noticed MORE guide data for Los Angeles OTA sub-channels here. A lot more of the foreign channels. However, there are still PLENTY of channels with no guide data. Among the most annoying is guide data for MeTV affiliate Channel 20 via LiL, out of Barstow, I think, not the real LOCAL channel 20, but NO guide data for real local MeTV at 56.3. Better PQ at 56.3 is why I would prefer to record from their instead of more compressed 20.

I get OTA guide data from Directv's Advanced Program setup...you can enter 2 zip codes and get the programming info...no such thing with DISH. Just like Directv was able to get a modified version of "Local on the 8s" that actually works, unlike DISH.

I get guide info for some, but not all, Fort Wayne, IN locals and subs OTA. All four of the PBS 39 subs have info, and I get info on subs 21.2 and 33.2. While I can pick up a couple of Lima, OH stations, only the independent religious broadcaster 44.1 has guide info -not the mainstream NBC/FOX stations.

In Atlanta, I am not getting the guide for channels Dish doesn't carry. I have to find the schedule for that channel online and manually set up the DVR. Events are called, "digital service'.
