DSR 920 SEEMS TIRED

As I have my receivers in for repair I thought I would try out the 920 once more. I do not have a remote for this unit and the switch seems to not turn on the 920. Does it also have a battery? I would appreciate directions on how to proceed or should I send it in for repair also?
