I have a .75m Channel Master Round Dish. It is same as the primestar round, but smaller.

I have a 10 foot dish. But its c band only. I can only go from 85 west to 139 west, so I don't want to add Ku onto it, as I have a spot for a small dish setup, that can see quite a bit more of the arc.

So I need ideas for a motorized system. I would like to find a motor that the dish pipe would fit snuggly on the dish, without having to use a $30 mounting pipe adapter.

I have also seen someone make a polar mount, which could be do-able, but would take alot of enginerring work.

So a motor that would drive the dish without dying out would be nice.

Been done plenty of times before, try a search for "motorized primestar" or similar terms should bring up a lot of threads. That dish should get you quite a bit of the ku stuff thats up there, one meter would be even better. One of those 2100 motors wouldn't have any trouble moving that dish, once you get rid of the excess weight and make a bracket to hold it to the motor shaft (and that part's easy). I would post the pics of the one I did but I have just upgraded my OS and haven't reloaded all my photos yet. And, yes I'm one of the people who mounted a primestar to a polar mount, interesting project too but the H-H motor would work better.
